The plank sometimes added a puzzle element, such as when you were in the sewers and had to find a plank. After you find the plank, it takes about 10 seconds to advance. If you were bored in that 10 second span, I'm not sure what to tell you. And do stuff without your permission? When in the game was this?
I don't understand how the season pass works? I'm always low on fukin ammo and weapons and I always need it in the worst possible way, WTF???
Once, while attempting to sneak through a room full of clickers, Ellie decides it would be a good idea to learn how to whistle. That **** wasn't cool. She did annoy me at times, but Spoiler I had no problems popping the doctor in the face to save her, didn't even think twice. I did feel a little guilty killing the second doctor so I let the third live.
Spoiler I didn't think twice either, shotty to the face of two of them then flamethrower to the last one.
Spoiler Enjoyed the game and ending very much. Joel has done a lot of evil to survive. In a way, keeping Ellie alive was one of the most human things he had done. It was selfish and keeping her alive gives him something to live for, but it was also an instance in which he decides something wasn't the price of a human life.
Man I was loving this all the way through...absolutely beautiful game and so detailed, strong cast of characters, good tension and gameplay. And then the end. It's a bit conflicting cause it's not the satisfying conclusion I hoped for but it's the ending the game demanded. The more I think about it the more it makes sense. But it still left me feeling a bit cheated.
Best game of the year by far? Name a game that was better than this that came out in 2013, don't say Tomb Raider.
I think Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite certainly deserve to be a part of the discussion. But ultimately TR's one dimensional secondary characters and Bioshock's somewhat stale gameplay (vigors weren't as fun to use as plasmids) put them just a step below The Last of Us, which is the most complete game of the bunch. All could be a moot point if GTA delivers the goods though.
Story wise, GTA won't beat Last of Us. But I'll be damned if any game ever comes close to GTA in terms of replayability and sandbox gameplay.
I also finished it this past Monday. It was a solid storyline. Now I will check out the DLC story and wait for the sequel. I think my campaign was about 16-18 hours, so it wasn't too bad. Wish it were a bit longer, but that is harder to do with linear games like this one.
I took advantage of the GameStop trade-in offer - turn in the PS3 version for a $25 PS4 version. Just finished the Left Behind DLC and thought it was very solid. The updated graphics, especially the lighting, are unreal on the PS4.
I'm only like an hour in...need to play more. Maybe I'll play some tonight. Haven't tried the multiplayer yet either.
I love this game! I completed the story like in 3 days. Now I'm trying to pass it on "Grounded". Man!.. they weren't kidding about it being difficult.
Haven't touched the game in a year, but would like to start playing again... Are multiplayer games still full of people? How long does it take to finish the DLC?
The DLC can take about 2-3 hours depending on how thouroughly you like to search the areas, but definitely worth a play through IMO. I imagine the multiplayer is rejuvenated, I believe people playing multi on PS4 can play with people playing on PS3.
