feeling a little edgy because people brought up how the world doesn't give a s**t about Syria, and well, you and they are a part of the problem? I suppose people who would try to divert away from the issue of Gaza by applying Syria fit in your same logic? People do give a s**t about Syria, not that you would need to have argue your opinion on Gaza, but people do. The UN has consistently been the canary in the mine. That SOME would ignore the people of Syria doesn't mean you should assume everybody else would. Using some sort of misguided moral judgement to stifle discussion---and then not even being able to put your money where your mouth is---is probably the worst of all worlds when it comes to debating tactics.
It sucks what people have to go through while we prattle and argue in much better conditions, if we wanted to be brutally, flagrantly honest.
Wow. That was a remarkable read, ATW. Sir Richard Dearlove isn't chopped liver. The highly educated former head of MI6, essentially Britain's CIA, isn't saying these things to sell a book. His account of conversations with Prince Bandar, former head of Saudi Intelligence, confirm suspicions that the Kingdom has in fact helped to create a monster, all in the name of the Saudi's self-perception that their Sunni Wahabi creed is the rightful leader, AKA ruler, of the Muslim religion. Sounds like they are off their respective rockers.
Thank you for your generosity...the Assyrians in North Iraq need all the help they can get. We still have family over there.

Well Israel accomplished nothing much but killed over a thousand innocent civilians. I doubt that the Israelis even succeed in scuttling the unity between the West Bank and Gaza which most neutral observers thought was the actual purpose of the latest assault. Israel's overall goal is clear-- beat ,kill starve the the Palestians till they accept a couple of disconnected small bantustans which the Israelis will call "states" for pr purposes in the West Bank and Gaza, surrounded by walls, with no access except that allowed by the Israelis. Did the latest slaughter accomplish this as hoped? I guess time will tel. If they can accomplish their Bantustan goal, this will allow the Israelis to quarantine off more than 3 million of the Palestinians in their own little "states" and allow the "Jewish" state to be free of too many Palestinians or Muslims. which are a threat to their ethnocracy. Hey the Israelis might succeed despite growing realization of their brutality, and overall acceptance, at least in the West of multiculturalism and religious diversity. There have been other examples of such ethnic cleansing succeeding, but not many in the modern era. The commonly cited example of South Africa does show sometimes that the tide can turn against the type of system the Israelis are striving for.
At the same time though what has Hamas accomplished? They've gotten a lot of their people killed are no closer to doing away with Israel or even much closer to establishing a viable Palestinian state. Yes they showed they could survive weeks of Israeli bombardment but they had shown that before. While they survive most of their tunnels are destroyed and they've exhausted their rockets while getting many times more people on their side killed than their enemy's.
I would love to have the Prime Minister Netanyahu as our President in the U.S. Flame me all you want...I really don't care. The guy has a sack!
On CNN they are showing video from an Indian TV reporter who captured video of Hamas prepping and later firing rockets from just outside the hotel where international journalists are staying. Hamas is nothing, if not a bunch of twisted pig ****ers. Israel for all the civilian deaths in Gaza isn't much better, but now we're seeing proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hamas doesn't give a **** about the people of Gaza or other foreign civilians by using civilian locations as a launch pad for rocket artillery. Video here: http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/news/watch-ndtv-exclusive-how-hamas-assembles-and-fires-rockets/332910 The French have also caught on. Video here: http://therightscoop.com/french-reporter-who-ran-after-hamas-rocket-launched-next-to-him-changes-his-tune-exposes-hamas-using-human-shields/
Let's talk apples to apples. Hamas is turning their own people into military targets. Israel is firing on what have become military targets. The results are certainly disgusting and tragic, but Hamas clearly invites, encourages, whatever-you-want-to-call-it, this misery onto their own people. Let's hold Israel to a high standard, but why not both? What excuses Hamas? Are we feeling so bad for Hamas that they get a pass on human shields? People talk about Israeli war crimes, but human shields, no big deal?
