This is the last 4 minutes. Many just remember the "Kiss of Death" but there was quite of bit of context required to understand the enormity of that shot. The Rockets were absolutely being destroyed by KJ with porous perimeter D (sound familiar?) and with Hakeem and KJ trading baskets like that, it kind of seemed like the first team to hit a 3 would win the game.

There was also a ton of game left after that shot with the free throw contest that ensued, ultimately culminating is Ainge's intentional miss/make.

Also interesting is how Rudy T pulled Hakeem for the final defensive possessions with his 5 fouls up 3, very similar to Pop pulling Timmy in the 2013 Finals. I guess the difference was that they were intentionally fouling instead of letting them shoot the 3.

Loved watching that turn-around baseline jumper from Dream.

Rockets didn't get a lot of respect, even as champions!! Referees gave Suns a lot of calls late in the game and Sam fouled out on some bs, Kenny got bs 5th foul, Dream got a bs 5th foul..Horry was elbowed all game long by Barkley, he didn't get called for ****. This game was meant to be won by the Suns, I have no doubt. Elie made sure that didn't happen. Also, big FU to Ainge, is there any other player in basketball history with a more punchable face than him??

Walton was awesome. Didn't hesitate to call Barkley out for shoving people to the ground to get rebounds.

I bet that Kiss of Death would have easily been T'd up in today's NBA.

Watching the Rockets two championship runs when I was 11 and 12 was the pinnacle of my childhood.

That strut/bounce that Hakeem had after made shots is so classic. I actually live in and own the house that I grew up in. I just watched that video in my living room, which happens to be the same room I watched it in 19 years ago as a 9 year old.

Thanks for posting that OP. Very transcendent and nostalgic. And I think I came.

    This is awesome, thanks.

We did give up a lot of layups and easy baskets early it would have been frustrating in real life. but Hakeem was siiiick. No chance any of our players can do the stuff he just did there :( I can only imagine it would have been such a roller coaster to watch live.

We still didn't run good inbounds plays in 1995?? It can't be that hard right??

Great 3 by Elie, but what did trading for him do to the team's cap flexibility? Anyone have the numbers?

Was this the game Ainge threw the inbounds pass into Ellie's face?
