My take with these "insider" reports is that it's mostly up to the reader to be intelligent in reading them in terms of understanding what the reports say and what they don't say as well as to discern the trust-worthiness of the source based on the history of the poster (or the lack thereof). It goes the same with anything else one read on the internet nowadays, really; even with reports by ESPN, Yahoo Sports or one of the professional outlets. For example, I can tell that cyberx and Codman have some inside info based on their prior posts revealing info that were later confirmed. I don't know that they know everything that goes on in the NBA or that what they share will actually lead to anything happening or not happening, though, since the state of NBA transactions is pretty much always "fluid." I can't tell either way about Plowman or his source since, as Plowman himself said, this is the first time he shared such info on the site. I trust that he's not intentionally spreading misinformation just to screw with people given his long history on the board, though. So, I just read Plowman's posts and will wait to see if anything happens. Don't really know why folks get so worked up about the "insiders." Unless the poster is just making up stuff and we have reasons to believe this to be true (and I think this was the case with the one guy who is in Indonesia and said he worked for the Rockets or a case where the rumored transaction makes zero sense), the way I think about it is just say "Thanks for sharing. We'll discuss but will take any 'trade rumor' until a trade actually happens." I also don't think folks who have insider info should care so much about whether people believe them. The nature of these things is often that one cannot reveal one's source and people here are going to be skeptical about reports that they don't think make sense. These things are true for reports from Marc Stein, Sam Amick, etc., too.-- how many times do we read people here complaining about how national media are making up stuff about the Rockets because they hate Morey or whatever when they report something negative about the team?
Honestly, I don't understand why people jump all over these insiders when something doesn't work out. Im pretty sure if I was Morey's neighbor and he had me over for dinner even he would have said "We got Bosh" I would have relayed that to you guys with the utmost confidence cuz EVEN MOREY WAS SURE, and he was the closest to the action. and look how that panned out... here's a hint... Spoiler It effing didnt:grin:
Yup...the only legit insider right now is Wojo...when he actually reports it. But I really don't mind it like others here.....makes the off-season go by faster.
He hasn't been breaking a lot of stuff this summer. Sheridan actually knew where Lebron was going before anyone.
Those of us that have been here since the ClutchCity.net days are standing strong with you. I am confident that your source dropped you the info. Thanks for sharing it, and please continue to do so. Now we just have to hope that Bledsoe signs so Morey can work his magic to make Dragic appear... Even if it doesn't come to fruition, I'll still appreciate you sharing with us what Morey was planning. Thanks
