I think there's 2 things that could be done to address this "insider problem". 1) Insider verification. Submit how you get your information to Clutch. He will check with his people, and if everything matches up, you get an "insider" tag. 2) A stated policy on insider information. How many "strikes", required details, etc. If a post is non-specific, then it gets deleted. Includes posting a tweet from a supposed insider.
I don't know about Drew but Plowman is putting his 99'er rep on the line with this one. I'll wait and see what happens with Bledsoe and see if Dragic gets traded before I make up my mind.
The problem with #1 is that it wouldn't be wise for an insider to have Clutch asking people if he's actually close to the organization. It may raise some red flags. I think Clutch just vouches for people he's met personally and knows they have direct access to inside information, or at the very least, are very close to someone who's got access.
While I appreciate basketballholic keeping it confidential, I am comfortable at this point saying that I was the "veteran poster" who asked him privately about what he was hearing. Let me be clear: I have not revealed, and will not reveal, anything that basketballholic told me in confidence. I have no means of verifying whether his sources are legit and will let Clutch address those sorts of issues directly with anyone claiming to have insider knowledge and posting about it on the BBS. I do know that I (generally) enjoy basketballholic's thoughts on this BBS and that he does not strike me as someone who would just make something up for attention. (He's got plenty of crazy hypothetical trade conspiracies for the attention-seeking department! ) He and I certainly have our disagreements; but I choose not to flame him for purporting to have insider knowledge. I am electing to give him (and Plowman) the benefit of the doubt here. But that's just me.
It isn't hard to predict that the Suns want to keep Bledsoe, at fair value, without pissing him off and are probably trying to wrap things up before more bad blood is spilled. It's also not hard to predict that several teams will inquire about Dragic, including Morey, the sec after Bledsoe signs. It then becomes a bidding war. I've no doubt the Rockets can trade for Dragic if they are willing to bet the farm. The NO pick is one thing, but just how many players get added to sweeten the pot is the real concern. Is Morey desperate enough to cough up both rookies and the NO pick? Is that the hold up? Waiting until signed rookies can be traded?
Bottom line as long as it all stays in 1 thread and doesn't spill over into the rest of the garm I don't have a problem with all these 'insiders' I may not believe any of them that seem controversial ATM but i understand why people choose to believe them as people pick and choose what to believe

This got a little interesting. If we're in Houston, posters should meet together in person with user ID's in hand and sign some sort of binding contract that the information won't be shared. I'm a Rockets fan above anything else. If I hear something (not that I have), I would keep quiet because as bballholic said, we don't want to risk the elimination of these sources.

Yeah, I appreciate that Bima. But I wasn't referring to you actually. I was referring to another poster I have exchanged emails with. I revealed a little bit more about my sources to him than I had to you actually. And I don't know if he did anything with the info I gave him or not. He may not have said anything to anybody. But some of the info that I told him (that I didn't even tell you) was sent back to me by 2 other members here. Now they might've just got lucky guessing, I don't know. All I know is I can't afford to reveal anything more about my source without risking losing them.
What if Morey's wife seduces you instead and then Morey borrows your phone and steals all your sources?
