I wanted Rondo last year, for Parsons and Lin, because not only is Rondo (pre-injury) a great PG, but also he's strong at defense, and vocal on and off court. If there are a few PGs in the league who can make Harden to give up the ball and play more defense, Rondo is one of them.

Lowry could be a lesser prime Rondo, strong and pretty good defensively, and vocal too. Too bad, he wasn't going to wait as conditional candidate.

Dragic, on the other hand, since he's ex-Rockets too, and he played very well on another team, GARM naturally wants him as the next "answer to everything". However, him and Harden as the back court, as strong as they could be offensively, who's going to handle the rock, and who's going to play defense against those elite guards in the league?

    1. Dragic is a very, very good defender.

    2. A backcourt of Harden and Dragic would be dynamic as both guys can shoot, finish, draw contact and knock down free throws, and find guys for easy buckets. Dragic and Ariza as book ends around Harden is very, very good defensively, especially when you consider Dwight is lying in the weeds ready to pounce.

Thing is Rondo is expiring, doesn't fit with the Celtics, he has to go
Either one of Dragic or Bledsoe have to go from Phoenix.
Rubio...doesn't have to go, even if Love is traded, Minny should be in no hurry to trade him, he's young enough that they can still go through a whole rebuild with him. Unless they get a offer they can't refuse (we don't have one) they should just keep Rubio, Pekovic and the impact player they get in a Love trade and try to build around that.

I could see a possible trade that would focus on improving Minny

Bennett, Budinger and 1st to Philly
    Young, Thompson, Waiters to Minny
    Love to Cavs

Or something like that ^ any trade where minny gers back quality players.

Minny would be just fine, absolute no teason to dump Rubio unless they get a offer they can't refuse. Only thing I think they'd be interested in if we could some how facilitate a better PG to minny in exchange for Rubio while taking back a bad contract or something too, which is just all highly unlikely.

Ill try to make one up, something that Minny almost couldn't refuse.

Jones, Capela, Canaan, non guaranteed contracts, Pelicans pick to the Suns
    Bledsoe, Beverley to Minny
Rubio, Martin (TPE) and Barea to Houston

    Rubio/Barea
    Harden/Martin/Daniels
    Ariza/Harden
    Humpries/Motiejunas/Adrian
    Howard/O'Neal

Then we'd still have our MLE, BAE to sign front court upgrades. I think Humpries and Blatche are still avaliable. But again, a trade for Rubio imo will cost a lot, be difficult and highly unlikely.

Yes, sir. Dragic is my no.1 option all the way, just do not know if the rockets are able to get him or Morey and Les do not think he is a third star on the team. This team will go nowhere if they are constantly looking for a soft max player like Bosh, Pau.

So, who is the "hardest" player on the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat over the last couple years?

I don't see why the Suns would want to trade Dragic or Bledsoe. Dragic is their best player, and he and Bledsoe worked great together. They are focused on making the playoffs, so trading one of them for a pick and some scrubs would be a disastrous deal for them.

They might move one of them if they can get a star at a different position. Otherwise, I just don't see the need. They have one of the best backcourt rotations in the league, probably the best. Why blow it up.

    Rondo seems very available, though.

Matt Bonner is probably the hardest, but sometimes he's flaccid.

Do not get your question, are you saying Bosh is the hardest player on the Heats? The rockets are totally different from Heats, and Spurs, there is no much comparison.

If this is true Morey f'ed up big time. He has gone down from top 5 GM to borderline top 10 GM.

Yes, this was a big mistake if true and definitely affects his ranking as a GM.

Hard truth huh? Sounds like wild, unsupported speculation to me. If your criteria were to hold, then LBJ would have stayed and Melo would have left (for CHI).

In reality, things are never that easy. You balance money, family, role, how much one wants to win, legacy, etc.

LBJ put old community ties and legacy above money. Probably even winning since he obviously could have gone to other teams (outside of the Heat) that would have been much more of a lock for a ring. He didn't -- why? He already had rings.

Bosh similarly would more likely have left MIA for HOU had he not already won 2 rings...he cares less about winning now; role and money and importantly family (they love it in MIA and don't want to move, per his own quotes) played greater roles.

To simplify a couple of players choosing some other team out of ALL their options to just, oh no one wants to play with Harden and Howard (with no other proof aside from said star not joining a new team, which is NOT THAT COMMON)...sry, no credence.

We just got a huge FA last yr (Howard). He wanted to play with Harden. Garcia took a huge pay cut to come back; so did Brooks, leaving only when he realized he would not get more minutes. Parsons loved HOU and lobbied for us, but management arguments/his future role and MONEY led him to the arms of DAL, rightly or wrongly. Boozer said he wanted to come to HOU had he not been claimed off waivers and Lowry had seriously considered us before choosing TOR (so had Bosh). Many teams do not even have the luxury of a player "seriously considering" only HOU (or their team) as their other option, and I HIGHLY doubt playing with Harden/Howard is a NEGATIVE on their decision scale...

I want to go back in time and get Lowry & Tucker, move Asik/Lin in the same way and hold onto my assets.

I don't think they get rid of either, but I don't think it's farfetched to believe they don't want to have ~40-50% of their Cap Room tied up in the guard rotation. That would be the only reason, at least that I can think of, that they'd look to flip one or the other.
