This is the latest of several personal attacks you have made today. Congratulations, you've made my ignored list.
I know, but McRoberts was under the impression that Lebron was staying in Miami. If we're sitting in December or January and the Heat are in the middle of the eastern conference (which is about where I expect them to be), they might look at that 4 year contract to McRoberts with some concern. We'd have the Lin TPE and a few assets left over after trading for Rondo. Something like: Trade #1 (in september) Houston In: Rondo Houston Out: TJones, Capela, NOP 1st, and non-guaranteeds Trade #2 (in december) Houston In: McRoberts Houston Out: Canaan, Llull, Ish, Adrien Rondo / Beverley Harden / Daniels Ariza / Marion McRoberts / Marion Howard / Dorsey
but are we trading parsons? way to ready the history of the posts. I for one have no problem with you never reading another post of mine.
He's good enough to not have terrible trade value as a two year contract getting paid $6 per. If Durant says he's coming to Houston, it should be pretty easy to find takers for Ariza and McRoberts (neither who are overpaid). Also, you don't position for 2016 when you only have Howard signed through 2015-2016. McRoberts is a win now move, which is exactly where we need to be if we've got Rondo, Harden, and Howard. Also, since you've traded TJones, and McRoberts can't be traded until December, it means DMo has moved into the starting lineup. That means real time to showcase him as an asset. Assuming he plays well (but not too well), you've got someone that Miami could have interest in. Amending my previous trade: Houston In: McRoberts Houston Out: DMo, Llull, Canaan Rondo / Bev / Johnson Harden / Daniels Ariza / Marion McRoberts / Adrien Howard / Dorsey Next year you bring over Papanikolaou and Gentile with your MLE to replace Marion (long term).
That's a legitimate argument. He's signed to a rookie deal for the next 2 years and he'd be restricted after that. My argument would be fit. DMo is not a stretch 4, or at least hasn't shown that ability yet. He's a center or big 4. Paint scoring is his forte. That's not really what we need. What we need with Rondo (by your own admission) is a stretch 4. IF we get Rondo, we don't need to overthink this. Get your PF that's a good fit and go to war.
lol Really? Dmo has shown to be a bust so far. Any reason to believe that he will not be so in the future?
I'll just add what several others have posted about Rondo. It isn't that he wouldn't be a terrific addition to the team (although I'd rather have Dragic or possibly Bledsoe if he's well and truly healthy himself). He would. Is the guy actually, finally, really freakin' over that knee injury? The total games played per season for the last 4 years, from 2010-2011 to last season - 68, 53, 38, and 30. This doesn't exactly inspire confidence, does it?
It doesn't inspire confidence, but it's also one of the reasons why he might be available for a reasonable price. You just gotta have the medical professionals evaluate the player and then just account for the health risk as a part of your decision.
i'm not crazy about that move either. we missed in 2014. 2015 is just love and rondo, which is a miss and a pass respectively. so are we to wait for durant in 2016? i'm not crazy about waiting for another 2 years. i would've rather had parsons for the next two years, and if durant wanted to come we could've traded his contract which would've been in the final year. option B (assueming the 3 star option was option A) is to build a seriously strong team around our two stars. this would involve developing our young guys (bev, sip, nick, daniels, jones, motie, clint) and bringing in a coach that actually has a system. about system coaching: most nba coaching revolves around getting the most out of the stars. a few coaches dared to be different and rely on their system, which emphasizes the importance of role players and deemphasizes the importance of star power. the spurs motion/flex offense, the triangle, the princeton, etc... what we have right now is 3's/layups/iso is designed for star power. we need a coach that can bring a system which will make the role players collectively as dangerous as a 3rd star. and we need our young talent to develop into dangerous role players.
A bust? He was a late first round draft pick and has proven to be a decent rotational player on a very good basketball team. That is far from a bust. And that is without even considering his still untapped potential.
lol No he hasn't. He has been given many chances but he always wilts. He looks good at times but never takes that next step. Nothing has shown us to expect more out of him. Hopefully he does take that step but we can't be looking at him as a player to help us much. Every scrub has potential.
You know who is an example showing the DMo has a chance of improving and not be a "bust"? Josh McRoberts. McRoberts didn't play substantial minutes until his 4th season and even after that he changed teams 3 more times in 3 years before really contributing to a winning team in Charlotte.
