Because of losing Cosart? A little over dramatic today? You seem to be taking this awful hard. He's a decent pitcher but I think he's replaceable.
no...because you're pushing back again. Trade for real major league ready guys, and I get it. Moving a young guy in your rotation for two more prospects is more delay...more pushing out. Look, I'm not going anwhere. It's MadMax and the effing Astros. But damn, I'm not not gonna live forever.
Kike was young, cheap, productive, and versatile.. I'm more upset we lost him then Cosart.. Only consistent production in our lineup right now besides Altuve.. Didn't we just try to sign Dominguez long term? and now we get this contact hitting 21 year old? and some scrub.. This compensatory pick better be amazing.. This is the first non-draft lunhow move that pisses me off.. Really hope I'm wrong, but this just seems like a great deal for the marlins..
Austin Wates was sent to the Marlins too, if nobody has said that.wish we could've given them Hoes instead..
When do the trades stop though. When a player turns 25, are they going to trade him for someone who is 21 and have MLB potential? Like a never ending circle. A dog chasing its leg.
exactly. how many years do we have to wait to see them flip prospects for MLB ready guys? Still waiting to see that. I know for sure they can flip MLB ready guys for prospects...they just did it again today.
Meh... I don't see how this really pushes the Astros back. They got an outfielder that will be starting now and have pitchers they like more than Cosart to fill the hole. It is a pretty good return for Cosart, I just do not like dealing Cosart to a team that knows young pitching like Florida.
Heard. I do, though, think that Folty can be at least as good as Cosart if not better. We have some arms in the farm that make it seem worth while to move a guy if we can get the right price in return. Moran seems like the STL type guy with a high floor and medium ceiling that has plate discipline and doesn't strike out at a tremendous rate. Then, you get a first round pick with it? I am hoping the OFer pans into something, but he is just icing with those two other parts of the package being the cake.
Love the move--almost exclusively because of the pitching depth in the #2-#4 mold we have in the minors. Someone will develop to be Cosart before the team is ready to contend...but getting Moran is big
So, everyone keeps saying Marisnick is MLB ready, but he's a 23y/o who posted a wRC+ of 97 in AAA this year. Woof.
