Wait wait wait wait wait..... Just hold up there. Take it easy. Okay, deep breath. You mean to tell me that Violet Palmer.........is gay?!?!?! No.....WAY.
Why does she have to "announce to the world"? Why can she not just marry her partner like anybody else like it's no big deal and only talk about it if somebody asks?
Men, wasn't the goal to get people to say "whatever" at some point, that it was just another day in society? The majority already accepts it and sort of putting a gun to someone's head you are not going to get more people to accept it. Look at how the KKK has many members still. The point was to get where it was no longer special to announce something like this. We are there now. It's normal now, the fact it's no longer special was the goal and it has been achieved.
That gay person sucks greatly as a referee. She looks ugly, but who cares, but I do care about his hating to the rockets, specifically to Yao, which caused us to lose some games during that time, so I hope this gay just retires from NBA or the other public events.
Random, but maybe the right thread. Is Adam Silver gay? If so, wouldn't that make this thread irrelevant.
Only 55% of Americans approve of gay marriage, gay marriage is still not legal in most US states, and we have US politicians and senators etc still against gay marriage. I don't know how that compares to the KKK, which is probably made up of less than 1% of the population.
Why is everyone saying "good for her" when she "announces" her intimate lifestyle? Things like that shouldn't be "announcements." If people are in that lifestyle and choose to be that way or were born or whatever it might be, why should they announce it? What, are people now going to not make lesbian jokes around her? People shouldn't announce their lifestyle. Just be you, and that's it.
And the country is about equally split between republicans and democrats, big deal. The point is division will always be there. Meanwhile, somebody saying "meh" instead of lauding another regular normal gay person as a hero for saying they are going to be married is achieving the desired goal. The more people say "whatever" at this type of news the more progress has been made. Doing otherwise takes away from the goal of equality and takes it toward favoritism. And regarding someone else's comments on bullying, everybody gets bullied, not just gay people. Everyone. The problem is not targeted at just gays, even straight people get bullied. Bullying is a problem that affects everyone.
What a brave and courageous individual for announcing what gets her off. It has inspired me to confess I dig Asian women. jk Violet. Quit your job and find something ur good at instead.
I can't help suspecting that the near-universal (on this bbs) evaluation of Violet Palmer as a bad referee has a lot to do with her gender. Maybe it's just that all refs are adjudicated to be bad and she has the misfortune of being easily identifiable because she's a woman, if I want to be charitable.
I'm not saying that saying "whatever" towards someone being gay is wrong. I agree with you there. That's a good thing! It's great that there's so many people that are okay with homosexuals. What I don't agree with you with is you saying most people accept gays, most people don't care, etc. That is not true at all and nothing you said addressed that point. 40% of Americans are against homosexuality, so you cannot say most people don't care anymore. Trust me man, I wish 90% of people "didn't care" when someone is gay.
Well, whatever her sexual orientation is up to her. All I know is she sucks as a ref and shouldn't be lauded for just getting married, that's not a big deal at all and I think making it a big deal is the opposite of what should be happening. Everyone should give it a good big yawn and move about their lives unless they personally know her. I'll stop discussing this matter because I truly just don't care what she does with her personal life. I do care how bad a ref she is.
What tipped you off? Was it the pants wearing or the lack of make up? Maybe it was because she wasn't making sandwiches for the players before a free throw? Of course, there were just so many obvious clues weren't there?
