do we have to go through this again. 6'9" is not undersized for a PF. Guess what? 6'9.5" is not undersized for a PF. So ******* frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess josh smith is undersized. I guess Boozer is undersized. I guess zach randolph is undersized, etc ....
If he's gonna play the 3, he really needs to work on his outside shooting. As of right now, his jumper is ugly, inconsistent, and off-balance.
He will be whatever the coach plays him at. He may be Pattersons replacement if Patterson cant improve his game.
I don't really understand this thread? T Jones did not play SF for Kentucky, he played as the PF. He is an excellent defender at the 4 spot. Yet has the skills to be a mismatch for a 4 at the other end. He's also a good rebounder, finisher around the rim, and weakside shot blocker. These are all things you expect in a PF. Why would we say he's a 3? Clearly he's a 4. If we had even 15 PFs on the roster right now then the obvious conclusion to draw would be that we're not done making moves on the roster (free agency hasn't even started for goodness sakes).
He's not a SF. He's a PF. Just because we have a glut of PF's and we all wish he was a SF doesn't make him one. He didn't play it in college, isn't expected to play it here and has no real potential to play it in the future. Hate it, but that's the way it is.
You can't really compare Morris and Jones in my opinion in terms of being able to play the 3. Jones is more athletic and more skilled and if he were to have to make that transition, I think he could do it much easier than Morris.
The positions are a lot more seamless now, it's more like guard, wing, interior, and jones is no wing.
Jones is a PF, however as of today he's just not a very good player. Some of that results from lack of fundamentals and some of it is just he's just playing against better players. He will likely never be able to slow down LaMarcus Aldridge or score on him in the post. For Jones he needs to work on what he can do; box out for rebounds more consistantly and score more off the driblle. Use his strengths against their weaknesses.
I'm O.K. with it as long as he abuses the faster 3s in the league (like he did the homeless guy) with his size but if he is going to do that, he would be a great 4. You know what they say, if my grandmother had balls, she would be my grandfather.
TJ could probably play a lil small forward but it would have to be situational because of the defensive matchup. But offensively I believe he could handle it.
I disagree. Jones' level of production tells us he is a very good player, especially considering his young age. What he needs to improve his man to man defense. You must show patience and let the guy develop.
He has good games against the lesser to middle of the pack PF's in the league, even if those PF's are on great teams (Ex. Spurs). That said the great and more athletic PF's in the NBA take him to school think Blake Griffin and Serge Ibaka. If very good player means NBA starter and contributor to a winning team, then yep he's that for sure. However, if expecting him to make NBA allstar games, then I think your expectations of him are too high. I really like him as a player, but think people have unrealistic expectations for him.
I totaly agree He is 6'8 or 1" shorter than Parson or 2"shorter than D12. He is skilled ,quick and does well against homeless short opponent
