This is war. This is hell. If someone is shooting at you and/or your friends, whether it be bullets or an RPG, and are using human shield... you still have to eliminate the threat. Try to put yourself in the same situation. All first world country soldiers will protect their soldiers and citizens. Third world countries do use children as shields, suicide bombs and soldiers. This is why we have to avoid war. It's freaking hell.
Everytime these idiots kill civilians, this is their excuse and people like you fall for it. Like the 4 kids that were killed playing on the beach. They were quite a bit away from anything but were "shields" for Hamas. GTFOH. They were targeted. Whether it was a mistake or not is another story.
No matter how the sides see it, the death of children move us further away from a long term peace. We have to make sure this never happens again.
Not all of them. Israel broke cease fires previously as well. I will never pretend Hamas are good guys. They've done horrible things, made stupid decisions, and have committed terrorism. The ten-year proposal was a different ones because the conditions it called for would actually improve the lives of Palestinians for the long term, and give them a chance to have a more self-sustainable land. Building that kind of sense of pride and hope in people will do far more to eliminate terrorism than killing their children and families while going after ammo dumps stored near them. Again if Hamas broke that cease fire, then Israel could easily go back to bombing and invading the Gaza strip. They've lost nothing by giving it a chance. If two sides presumably want peace, and they are both doing things wrong which makes conditions for peace much more difficult, it doesn't really do any good to only focus on one of the parties. Also for BOTH parties to keep doing the exact same thing they've done for decades which hasn't worked any of the past times they did it, and then doing it again over and over is not a wise option. So I'm going to be in the trying something new camp instead of the same failed tactics that have been used over and over again.
I don't know that they did it intentionally. But it could be for the same reason they have taken Palestinian homes, made different laws about how much water Palestinians can use as opposed to Israelis, kept Palestinian fishermen from earning a living fishing, taken the fertile land from the Palestinians in Gaza, etc. There isn't a good reason for any of it.
Who knows why they did it but the video clearly showed that those kids on the beach were far away from 'Hamas'. The reporter that NBC pulled out of Israel for obvious reasons (hint.. it wasn't danger) was just playing with those kids FFS.
Weapons of mass destruction = using civilians as shields. Brainwashing the masses to justify actions. Oh, how is Iraq doing these days?
It is absolutely sad and ridiculous when Israel and IDF supporters absolutely ignore this FACT. They justify the killing of Kids and civilians. They call it collateral damage. Pathetic.
^ are you saying Hamas doesn't employ a tactic of shooting from areas near civilians, storing weapons near civilians, etc? What of reports that Hamas regularly use children to build their tunnels, in which at least 160 perished? Maybe that was bunk? But if not, isn't the reality that this is in no way analagous to the "weapons of mass destruction' claim, like you are trying to make?
Can you please respond to the killing of the 4 kids on the beach, The purposely targeted UN school, and the bombing of the park today by Israel?
Problem is that people are trying to figure out who has the moral upperhand. The answer is that no one does. Israel took land and made a state. One can argue the U.S. once did the same thing and it did. And it was a grave injustice. Now Palestinians are still pissed about that. But more so, they are pissed about being locked into a prison where their lives are reduced to that of misery. Where they have less rights even though the majority of them haven't done a single thing wrong. Their fault is to be born Palestinian. Hamas - the suicide attacks, the rockets, the demonization - is just as horrible. But what people don't understand is that Hamas is the side-effect. It is not the disease. The disease is misery and a lack of hope.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/07/27/israel-un-school/13245403/ I would like to hear your take on this now that Israel admitted it was lying.
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10204567908299491&id=1287366745 ^what are these beatings about? I just saw this today. Killing 4 kids that were far away from anything can't be justified. This is just one of many examples.
This might be an older video, I don't think its related to the current Gaza situation. A sad sad video, either way.
I don't like anyone killing anyone...?? Not sure what you want me to say, or how what you are asking is in any way a response to the post of mine that you quoted? I have no take. I still don't know any of the facts. Nor do I know what Israel was lying about? Facts I'd like to know, with certainty, would include: - What rockets/weapon inflicted the damage and who it was fired by and intentionally or not - Had warning been given to leave the property, and when - Had Hamas in any way used the property to house weapons, or terrorists and been active in firing from the area - Etc. Are those facts known?
Deputy Minister Eli Ben Dahan: "Palestinians are not human beings, they don't deserve to live and they are nothing but animals." I've noticed that Israelis use this animals reference quite often. In fact, I engaged in a back and forth with Casspi on FB via DM and he was quick to call Hamas animals. I suppose that's what they are but the brain-washing comes from top down. Bottom-line: Thousands of Jews all around the world have protested against Israel.
The bottom line is that terrorism cannot stand. Hamas is a despicable terrorist organization and must be eliminated.
