Well, a real nice showing from Mr. Golden Spikes tonight. He ripped a grand slam and finished 2-2 with 3 walks and 3 runs scored.

Tri-City just won their 10th straight as they finished dissecting Staten Island 16-3. They outscored the Yankees 39-10 in the 3 games.

It's really not a secret that a lot of our pitching prospects aren't crazy about our "unique" way of developing them

Now it might end up we are geniuses and our method is better than everyone else

But as of now, most of them aren't crazy about it

Possible. It could also be that Luhnow has made the same kind of offer to Folty like he has to other prospects and he believes he would have been called up if he'd accepted it.

Steal of draft. He's gonna make me not give too much of a crap if Singleton ends up stinking.

I think claims of this being a wasted draft may have been made too early. The trio of Reed, Davis and Fisher could still make this a productive draft.

DJ Fisher has always been projected as a toolsy player whose performance hasn't quite lived up to the talent. Most of the scouts project he could have plus hit, plus power, and plus speed. So far he has posted a .351 Avg, .467 OBP and 9 steals.

Bobby Boyd has also had a great start at Tri-Cities.

6.5 million dollars invested in to Mark. I think he will get as many chances to succeed as any.

Mark Appel is a HUGE douche.

Having said that, and assuming an Astros player really said "it is ******g unbelievable" {that you Cosart (a huge douche)?} They better get a grip on reality. The Astros invested the #1 pick in the draft in Appel and still believe he has the ability to be a top line pitcher... of course they are going to try and straighten him out.... the B- pospects and filler caliber players on the currents Astros and minor league system can cry it is unfair all they want, but virtually nothing is baseball is fair... nor life for that matter.

I'm not anti Christian athlete, I just don't like having it jammed down my throat nor used as an excuse of crutch for ones performance (or lack there of). I'm just sick of excuses.

If most fans can clearly see the emphasis the front office has on the future vs the present, you gotta expect the players to consistently feel slighted when there is clear favoritism to certain players (which I have zero problems with).

The current young group needs to also realize that they'd unlikely get as much of a chance on a good or contending team.

Where is Appel jamming his Christianity down your throat? Where is he using it as an excuse?

Clearly some of the players currently on the Astros are more concerned about what Mark Appel is doing instead of trying to, uh... win some games.

Bunch of p*****s. They should be happy they have jobs. 80% of them wouldn't crack any other MLB roster.

It's not like they are loading him with more money and letting him go out there and suck every 5th day in the majors. They are simply doing whatever they can to fix a $6.5 million investment. I don't know what they don't get about that, or how they think they have any right to mouth of about it.
