Clearly an undeserved promotion, but I'm still happy about it, some prospects get preferential treatment. I've maintained that he should have been in CC all year anyhow.

Having said that, Josh Hader has every right to be angry. What does the man have to do to move up. He dominated A ball last year, and he has been even more dominant this year in a place that is impossible to pitch. I really don't understand it.

 

I think you answered yourself in your first paragraph.

The fact is, the Astros' farm system is saturated with decent arms across all levels. Promoting multiple players is more difficult under those circumstances.

I'm with you, though, that some prospects get preferential treatment. I'm glad to see Appel move on to a more pitcher-friendly atmosphere. His velocity has always been pretty good. We'll see if his location improves in Corpus.

 

I would agree with that on Mark Appel and maybe Kyle Smith but they have also promoted Mike Hauschild and Chris Devenski. These two are lower on the prospect pecking order, and didn't perform as well.

They've got have a reason why they haven't promoted him, I just can't think of one.

A.J. Reed just hit a grand slam, his 5th homer of the season.

 

Folty needs to become a better pitcher if he wants to complain.

 

At least Hader is pitching well. Folty has been pitching at Appel levels in his last 7 games (8.39 ERA).

 

I know right. What's Folty and his 5.12 ERA crying about.

 

Luis Reynoso has homered in both games of Greeneville's doubleheader.

 

Good. He's struggled outside of his debut in the DSL a couple of years ago.

 

He's also playing LF.

Josh James has 6 strikeouts through 3 innings so far in game 2.
