Yeah signing I.Smith was probably the nail in the coffin for any chance of signing Nelson. Unless we make a big trade that leaves a whole in our PG spot.
We need to bring a veteran or two. Starting with shawn Marion. If we're not going to trade for a pg than bring in mo Williams
Drew may not be right about the date or which pg we are going after but let's all be honest here. Do we really think Morey is done reconstructing this team. He said it himself Last Years team was not a championship caliber team. Adding Ariza was great. Do I wish we could have kept Parsons? Yes! But it is not the end of the world. It is not like we lost Harden or Dwight at the moment. We will begin to lose them if we are not active in bringing our stars some championship caliber team mates. We are most definitely trying to upgrade the pg position. We all saw what happened last season during the playoffs. Out played by Lilliard and Mo Williams. Do not get sentimental over the younger guards. They are in the Summer league to showcase. If nick johnson, canaan, terrence jones, or Dmo can net us a Bledsoe or Dragic or even Rondo, then full speed ahead and do not look back. We need depth and we need to be able to play in the half court. Alot of change is upon us and we should embrace it because it will be for the better. I would definitely look at Boston too to see if we can make a three way to get jeff green if we are going to lose either Jones or Dmo. Someone knows something and is not telling us but every single person on this site that bleeds Rocket Red and has followed this team should know deep down that we are not staying put. We're getting someone and it will sooner than later. Get pumped folks because we are going to tear it up in 2014-2015. They will fear us, they will hate us but they will respect what we are doing. Chandler Parsons, Chris Bosh, and Carmelo will regret the day they did not take our offer to be in our line up and they can go F*** themselves.
Because its been VERY QUIET on the Rockets front. I don't care if its a big signing, I want some sort of SPLASH (no matter how minor or major) NOT named a former Rocket or from overseas... EDIT: Already have known about the Nick Johnson signing.
While I'm not sure anything is happening soon, you're right that Morey is working tirelessly to make us a contending team, and that if we hope to continue keeping our two superstars long term, we need to surround them with contending caliber talent. I'll add that I absolutely love what you ended your post with. "They will fear us, they will hate us, but they will respect what we are doing." That's a 'call to arms' I can get behind. It's what I've wanted for a long time, for the Rockets to be feared by the powers of the league. When Yao went down during that second round series against the Lakers, that marked the last time the Rockets were truly feared by the contenders, in my opinion. We were one of the teams they hoped not to face. We're getting back there. I'm convinced of it. Parsons will end up wishing he had stayed. Tough.
Dude, you're an annoying flea on a thoroughbred's back. Your insolence and lack of respect is only exceeded by your ignorance. My initial response to your inside out post was what let the horses out. You cried "Bull" like Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.....as if to draw me out for a duel...while repeating the redundant mantra that demonstrates the height of your idiocracy. Myself and others have explained the situation to you, but apparently your comprehension skills (and manners) are lacking. To continue on in this fashion is the equivalent of walking into our home, pulling down your pants, and taking a dump on the dining room table. You see, there are longstanding traditions here...and you are out of line. So, I implore you, sir...stop...or it's... Pistols or sabers?
Others have named them, so no reason for me to re-list them. Bev is solid, but he's no where near the top of the PGs in the NBA...not even close. He'd actually be better served as a back up on a championship team, not the starter. Consider the hole we have at PF...and now consider the fact that it seems like the Rockets are working harder to find a starting PG. That should tell you something.
