Guys, it's my fault. I'm the one that humored drews vague posts first, last summer in the epic Dwight Howard rumors thread.

I knew he was a troll but we were all so desperate for inside information, we just wanted to believe.

Josh Smith has bad shot selection and bad shot making ability from basically anywhere other than at the rim. But he is not a horrible player. He defends well, is a pretty good good passer and finisher at the basket. His misery in Detroit was mostly an issue of being forced to play SF on a team ill-suited for his talents.

That said, I am not sure how Smith fits on a front court next to Dwight Howard, another guy who has no shooting range. The team should be trying to open more space for Howard and Harden to work, not less.

The guys sucked last year and is a straight chucker. Nothing is efficient about it him at all. He plays good D but his offense is atrocious recently. If this isn't enough to convince you.

why is it so difficult to believe that his offense could succeed in a limited scope? If Monta could do it, josh Smith isn't a lost cause

It's not that he can't play within the system with a limited scope. He just can't hit a shot consistently. Just take a look at the shot chart from last year. So we efficiently give him corner threes, he can't hit that very well. We give him mid range shots, he can only hit consistently from one side. Other than at the rim and one area, he was beyond horrible last year.

Because look at that shot chart.
Monta wasn't exactly a scrub shooter before Dallas. He was a great shooter, just wildly inefficient. Josh Smith is NOT a great shooter.

It was a terrible decision to play Josh at 3, who spends last 3 seasons playing at 4.

His shot selection was poor, but in our offense no one except Harden should/needs to take mid-range J. And i'd be ok with Josh taking corner 3s since neiter TJ nor D-Mo shoots those 3s better than Josh.

And he could bring a huge impact on our defensive end, no one should doubt that.

Eh. No. People like you have wrecked what started off as a great idea and a great thread. We now have roughly 70 pages of endless (and quite stupid really - PHO is NOT trading us stars for trash) trade speculation based upon unfounded "insider" info. And where is cyberx? You dimwits probably scared him off for a while.

All you had to do was start a different thread. Would that have been so difficult? Apparently. Now, even if cyberx does come back (which he will at some point), we will have to wade through all of this garbage to find his nuggets. So thanks for that.

people should just ignore his performance last year.

bad teams make player looking bad.

I'm reading that as Monroe is demanding Smith be traded, not Josh Smith demanding they trade him or Monroe.

    LOL

There is no way that Morey is do what would essentially amount to hinging his career to Josh Smith and that albatross contract.

If they weren't willing to pay CP $15 million per year and ride with Dwight/JH/CP, they aren't going to do $13.5 million for Smith for 3 more years and bank on him being the third star.

The offseason is still the offseason even when you try to put lipstick on a pig.

FWIW, Josh Smith's xRAPM over the last 4 seasons:

    +4.5
    +6.2
    +3.4
    +3.2

    Not bad for a "cancer."

when people tries to figure out how Josh would preform with howard and harden, he should check his stats in 2011-2012. In that season he was only the second or third choice offensively.

IMO xRAPM trend, rather than xRAPM number, says more about the recent performance given how it's calculated.

People like me wrecked this thread? No cry baby little punk ass b****es like YOU have ruined this thread with your endless whining. For every "insider" that post here there is 20 post from you Dbag wanna be thread police. You don't have anything to add other than post after post of endless b****ing.

All you have to do is stop acting like a spoiled little girl who isn't getting her way. Is that so difficult? Apparently it is for you! Now, even if cyberx does come back (which he will at some point), we will have to wade through all of this garbage to find his nuggets. So thanks for that.
