There's been something like 3,500 rockets fired into Israel by Hamas since 2011. They respond now and they are the warmongers. I won't pretend that Israel's is the righteous neighbor. The situation in Gaza is terrible and Israel has lots of blame in that, but the idea that they are warmongers for responding to perpetual attacks is ridiculous. I don't agree with a lot of what Netanyahu says, but he is right when he says no other country in the world would show similar restraint. The US would have flattened Gaza and then bombed them again when the first responders showed up just to make sure we got all of the terrorists.

It's not the religion, just people who abuse it, and it is a war of civilizations, the whole existence of Israel is a war of civilizations, don't pretend to be blind about it. We have quite a bit of overlap in our ideas, minus one or two differences, so I'm not going to attack somebody I partially agree with. It's not productive. But, the ideas that video presented is nonsense, and it passed the litmus test by garnering ATW's stamp of approval. The video used fertility rates as the basis of its argument, saying anything above 2.11 = civilization lives, and anything below 2.11 = civilization dies. China's fertility rate is 1.58 - Chinese culture isn't going anywhere. Japan's fertility rate is 1.39 - although they're experiencing economic hurdles due to population decline, their culture is not being extinguished. Russia is 1.54, and their country's borders just expanded. On the opposite side, a large majority of African countries have astronomical fertility rates (as shown in the picture), but you don't see people running to learn Swahili or Oromo, and black people aren't taking over the world. The video fails because there are a half-ton of factors that it doesn't account for, either purposely or negligently, which invalidate the author's theory. It's Islamophobic propoganda (which is why it made ATW so excited), and judging by your previous post, you're too good for it.

"Restraint" Tell that to the PA that has been trying non-violence, and where there have been no attacks since something like 2008. You have separation of rule of law for Arabs and Jews with different legal jurisdictions (and of course guess which is more lenient), settlers coming out of nowhere and claiming land---and to boot attacking residents---with the implicit consent of the IDF sent to protect them---and bad-faith negotiations as lined out by the Palestine Papers. Fatah and the West Bank have gotten almost nothing, basically. Yet they were still in overarching position to dominate the unity government arrangement---even if they were forced to by the fact their negotiating partner doesn't actually fundamentally believe in the two-state solution. That's when all hell broke loose---right when there was the most potential. If Netanyahu had shown a sliver of the "restraint" he always argues the IDF employs in the political wing---a sliver---this situation would not have deteriorated to this point. He must have known when he was negotiating in bad faith, imposing collective punishment on Gaza with an excessive blockade, and implying that his administration would be the best for settlers that he was headed to war, f**king over his only peaceful negotiating partner. IF you look at the statute that Hamas was founded upon, the one calling all Palestinians to kill any Jew they see (theres a direct quote about how one day all the trees will hold out Jews, and it is your responsibility to kill them). So thinking on it, if Hamas had the capability to kill any and every Jew they could, then they would do so... Whereas Israel does indeed have the capability to kill every Palestinian loyal to Hamas, and they choose not to. I read somewhere recently that Israel uses its missiles to protect its own citizens, while Hamas uses its citizens to protect its missiles... I know the issue is not so black and white, but still.
Hamas are butchers. They're actually not the WORST butchers out there, seeing as they don't believe so much in the hardcore crazy as IS does, and they believe in democracy. What do you get when you war with butchers? Butchery. What should you do? Avoid war.
