Bill hasn't changed much. Your nerves are just sensitive. If he's complaining about the refs then it re-affirms what the audience is seeing as well. Vince Scully, Milo, Harry Caray all have been behind behind the mic effectively well into their senior years.

Bill, Bob Allen, Ron Franklin. Those were the guys I grew up with when you had rabbit ears and only 3 stations (PBS didn't count). When Bill goes, a chunk of my youth goes, so I want him to hang on for as long as he wants.

Last thing I heard Worrell jumped on the bandwagon this off season, he was seeking a Max Contract for the next 5 years..

Calvin Murphy is the best ever in rockets history as far as commentating goes.

Bill Worrell is my childhood. He can stay as long as he damn well pleases.

Never understood the anti-Worrell sentiment here. I hope he stays on as long as possible.

Good God. First Gene Peterson (I have not tuned in to the radio since). Losing Bill. DOH. Watch the games mute.

Worrell has a life long contract.

Clyde should be given one too at least for the fact that you can shake your head at his dumb comments even when things are going bad for the Rockets.

Anyone remember the season that the Broadcast was simulcast TV/Radio with Gene Peterson doing play by play for road games and Worrell was the color guy? Home games were separate broadcasts with play by play Peterson (radio) and Worrell (TV).

I think rock bottom for TV was when Barry Warner did color. He drug Greg Lucas down with him. Lucas was decent at play by play.

If they have Ackerman as his successor, we won't skip a beat.

There was a time when Worrell was doing double duty, Rockets and Astros play-by-play. He is the MAN in Houston, and he can stay as long as he wants.

    Yes.

I love Bill, he's a legend. Simple as that. I also love Clyde and Bull. I think they're great, and never boring. I know the retirement is inevitable, hopefully we can retire him to the rafters somehow. But if anybody's going to succeed the legendary Bill Worrell it has to be the radio voice Craig Ackerman. We're very fortunate to have great game-calling guys, definitely among the best in the league.
