Are we four episodes in now? The show is watchable and I'm not bored watching it, but I don't find myself really caring where the story is going. Doesn't seem like anything is really happening. And that Asian chick is super annoying. She seems dumb...like really really dumb
I haven't watched an episode yet. Ive been looking at this thread hoping you guys would persuade me to finally bite the bullet and watch. It sounds like even now most are still on the fence. I want to watch, the premise is neat, but not looking like a series I'll be picking. This coming from a guy that is still watching Under the Dome... UNDER THE DOME! smh.
The show is very watchable. Far from the best, but there's nothing out there at the moment that's better.
I thought last nights episode was pretty good. So far im enjoyin it but I mean what else is there to watch?
I'm interested in this show. Have they alluded to any solid info on where the people went or if they'll come back? Any actual sci-fi to the show other than 'they gone'?
Thought last nights episode was terrible .. may be the last for me . Probably go ahead and cancel HBO , absolute waste of money unless GOT is on .. haven't watched a decent movie on there in ages .
the promise of the pay off is what is keeping me, some of the story lines are fast forward material - (all the daughters)
I can't take any more of those smokers just standing around saying nothing .. last episode was a complete waste with nothing happening .. I'm out .. might pick it up later if it improves
I don't think the disappearing people are even the point of the story. I think that is a construct and the drama is about how this town reacts. It is not sci fi and we probably won't get any answers. What we will see is people behaving in the aftermath of something significant (but that significant something is not really that relevant).
Still torn on this. It's acted well and the story lines have potential I just need conflict to keep me interested. I'm afraid of sticking with it so long hoping something happens that I become committed.
Get HBO Go and watch the vast array of hit tv series. That's about enough for me to keep my HBO subscription
The showrunner has gone on record saying they have no interest in resolving the mystery. They're more interested in the human drama that ensues after the rapture.
Last's weeks episode (number 3) was great, it was focused, felt tight and was a great character story, gave insight to why some people react the way they do. I was hoping we would get more of the same this week, I can see the writers building a foundation, but things really need to start picking up soon.
I just don't see it . .. why have the 'mystery' and never address it I understand the Magical Realism portion of it but if this is just about a drama about how people deal with loss well those are a dime a dozen and boring. . . . which is why I think I will be leaving this This is as boring as Crisis or Resurrection etc Rocket River
I thought it was interesting that the preview following the latest episode they showed a preview of what's coming up for the season, not just the next episode. It was almost like, "yeah nothing at all happened in this episode but look at all the stuff that's about to go down." I'll keep watching the show but these people in white better have a point beyond what they're showing.
The rapture is the high concept that gets people to watch the show, but I don't think they want to dwell on it. Maybe because anything they come up will fall short of whats in people's imaginations, and then they'll feel let down and angry after the reveal. At this point, if the show isn't giving us little bread crumbs as to why the rapture happened, I don't see it ever being resolved.
