I am not really a big fan of Halle Berry's acting I doubt anyone has done less with an Oscar but I think the small screen suits her more than the big screen I think this show has shown some definite promits It is not as good as THE STRAIN but not as bad as the LEFTOVERS I am intrigued Two episodes in and I am curious and kind of hooked. The Japanese gentleman from Helix is becoming quite the draw He plays the mysterious aloff role very well. [Even if he is typecast] Rocket River
Movie to tv is not as bad as it once was in the past. We are in the "Golden Age" of television, there's money to be made on the small screen now.
Alot of moving back and forth these days Look at Larry Fishburne. now. . . BACK TO THE SHOW!! The kid is kind of creepy . . .. . I am seeing that they will trying to entertwine the Humanix and the Alien Rocket River
Dramatic serieses that can be resold on streaming media are the future. The quality had gotten very good with HBO setting the bar. We watched Halt and Catch Fire, Last Ship, Murder In The First , Extant, Maron, Louie, and Silicon Valley all this Summer. Summer used to be a wasteland.
movies are good because you get paid big bucks (plus % of box office) for like 6 months of work. TV you don't get paid as much, and you work a lot more.
Couldn't even make it to the first commercial break... Halle better hope they keep making X-Men movies cause this show will be canceled in a month
Personally I'm no into sci fi so the chances of me liking it were pretty low to begin with... And once it started I knew it wasn't for me. It looked like it could be a hit on cable maybe the Sci Fi channel but these CBS shows are not even made with the intention of becoming a hit. They just need something to come on after Big Brother... It amazes me how many shows they make and cancel within 6 weeks.
Well this is a mini-series so it will be done in a couple weeks anyway.. The ratings have been pretty solid for this show so doesn't look like it will be getting the axe before it's run. The only reason we even have this show now is because Under the Dome, another genre show that is absolute **** and I still watch (don't judge me), Is a hit for CBS.
TV is not a downgrade anymore. Tons of big names in television right now, in this day and age TV is merely a alternative. Actors and Directors move back and fourth nowadays.
The 2nd episode was a disappointment. From the 1st episode, what the hell was that future garbage disposal system? There cannot be a logical explanation for it. You have a canister that presumably is also a trash compacter that must be emptied into a chute of some sort at the curb? I can't tell if (a) a garbage man is supposed to pick it up or (b) it flies away to some processing plant. I'm going to presume it's (b)--why can't you just have the chute going up through the house? The future sucks. Also--what's with the inconceivably rich Asian seeking eternal life trope?
