We are definitely better. Monta will take a step back this season and Dirk isn't getting any younger. Tyson Chandler is also getting old. Mavs also have a lot of big injury risks so they could miss the playoffs entirely if they have bad luck. If they have good luck on injuries they'll be somewhere between 6th and 8th seed IMO.

Rockets should be #4 again in the West.

Better question: are the Mavs still better than the Pelicans?

    Rockets Assistant Coach

Who are the Rockets targeting to be the Assistant Coach; he will be the one to get them to play defense.

That's because the Rockets keep blowing it every time the they're actually favored. Perception is still there from the Yao/McGrady era.

OP, there are so very many threads in which you could have posted this one-liner. Read and post in other threads more until you can develop some judgement about starting threads. Leaving my opinion of your idea aside (it's absolutely absurd), the idea has already been posted in several other threads.

This is just terrible. One star.

Yes, and I don't know why people can keep asking this.

You mean teams that exit the first round of the playoffs?

I'm pretty tired of seeing this question...

Mavs fans are excited about their offseason. And why shouldn't they be? They got a player that a crucial piece of their championship in 2011 and they got a player from one of their division rivals. If I was a Mavs fan, that would be pretty exciting.

But I'm not a Mavs fan. And as a Rockets fan, I think they will quickly find out that 2014 Tyson Chandler is nowhere near the same as 2011 Tyson Chandler. I think they will quickly find out that Parsons is a good player, has the ability to be a great complimentary player, but is not a max-15 million a year player. I think they will quickly find out that their defense will be mediocre to bad with an old, past-his-prime Tyson Chandler as the only player who was ever good at defense. I think they will see the decline of the 36 year old Dirk from brig an elite player. And.....they might have to start Raymond Felton!! Devin Harris it Gal Mekel aren't much better.

Forget about the Mavs. I don't like them either. But they are not our main competition this year.

The question cant be answered until the end of training camp when rosters are finalized.

Take a breath people and just relax.

As of right now they have no one who can guard James Harden.

Would you trade Howard, Harden, Beverley and Ariza for Nowitzki, Monta, Tyson, and Parsons? If yes, then the Mavs are better than us. EL OH EL.

And the Rockets lost Lin/Parsons/Asik. The Mavs added Parsons.

You're asking a Rockets bbs. You know what the answer is. Even if we didn't have Howard/Harden, you'd still know what the answer is.
