Repped. Can't deny he knows someone that has more access to wanted info then us peons do. And drew wasn't going out his way to inform cf, in fact it was cf that promoted him. Lets ease off, give out a chance to play out. If we get a pg from phx in tom, next week, next month, I'm giving credit to drew
who cares? whatever happens happens...it's at least fun to speculate & TRY to believe this drew guy, but ban him? c'mon on now
I agree , we have two stars on the Rockets. Lots of teams in the nba are probably envious of how morey was able to pull it off within two years.
I am willing to give it a few more days, maybe even a week. Remember, Nobody even mentioned Dragic as a possibility before Drew. There was a thread about Throwing the Max money at Bledsoe, which was right after the emotional swing with the Bosh situation. That thread died pretty quickly. All we had was that one article from George Karl that said the Rockets might be looking for a PG. Did anyone guess that PG could be Dragic (coming off career year)? Or even Bledsoe? Since Drew is the first (followed by Plowman) "insider" that even mentioned the names Dragic and Bledsoe as possibility, IMO if we end up getting one of these guys, it will solidify Drew as a legit insider for me (and also Plowman as having some connections). I think he got a little too excited and mentioned Saturday(which might have been the general feeling in the front office), but it doesnt matter if it takes a couple of extra days or weeks. As long as we get one of Dragic or Bledsoe it would turn this somewhat disastrous offseason into a successful one. Waiting patiently and hoping Morey can make it happen.
If are able to get Bledsoe and he stays healthy, watch out! I know that's a lot of ifs, but I can dream
lol Morey just has gotten us spoiled. A couple of years ago and I could never imagine us where we are now. I didn't mind that Morey swung and missed. At least he went for it.
I'm obviously on board when it comes to adding allstar players. But if you need a reminder that our current PG ain't backing down from anyone. Whatever happens, I hope we keep this Wolverine! http://youtu.be/BeYmZD1fgXA
I can't wait til the next time Patrick Beverley plays against Westy in OKC.... Such an amazing atmosphere. Watching him go at Westy is just so fun. It's fun because you know Westy is galaxies away superior than Pat, but Patrick still doesn't back down. Westbrook is one of the few players you don't want to go at because he'll take you to the hoop with ease. Patrick is the man lol. Sucks he would be better as a bench player tho );
How many times are people going to fall for this. Saying "it's not looking good" could mean we're matching Parsons and doing anything with our assets before the deadline is unlikely. It could mean we're not matching Parsons. It could mean we're matching Parsons and Parsons is pissed. It's better than even a 50/50 chance that "it's not looking good". Just stop it guys. People like cyberx clearly have some connection to some people in the organization, and even then it's not consistent it seems. It's very difficult to have even that much information and be able to talk about it - my instinct is that he is not a Rockets employee therefore doesn't feat getting fired for spreading these bits of news. That I can appreciate. That I can understand. But tweeting vague ish in periods where activity is likely, and then underscoring it with "it could fall through though" is total bull. No harm in listening, but nothing to gain either based on past tweets. It's widely recognized that the internet has, for some reason, blown up with fake insiders and sources this NBA offseason. This is just a another person who is playing guessing games in hopes of being right and trying to establish a reputation based on what happens. If he actually specifically gets one thing right by chance, then there are hundreds of users here who will believe he's an insider and follow him on twitter. For a nobody, that's a real motive. Everything else he ever says will be "must have fallen through, because remember he was right that one time!!" So can we just let people post what he says, let them discuss the scenario and not chide people who just do not believe him at all?
I hear you, but if you were following what was being discussed via Twitter there was no doubt it meant we were NOT matching. It was clear in no uncertain terms. But, hey, it's obvious quite a few simply don't want to give the guy ANY credit for anything. I'm not defending him as much as I am my own ability to read people, circumstances and use common sense. Whenever someone shares anything, there's a group that simply roll their eyes and think "whatever". That, or calling them trolls, saying they know nothing, etc is the cool thing to do. But sometimes people actually hear things and simply want to share. (And yes, there's obviously been a couple of idiots who made stuff up - and it was fairly easy to figure out quickly) For example, last year during the Dwight drama, a friend of mine was working with Nuno. I was all over him asking him to ask Nuno what he thought, head heard, felt, etc. At one point, he said the organization was extremely confident. But, not only that they were going to get Dwight, but Josh Smith as well. I shared that.....and fortunately, didn't get crucified when it didn't happen. Obviously Nuno isn't an "insider", but I still ask him things via Twitter during trade deadlines and free agency. Early on during this free agency he told me the organization was not confident they would sign Bosh. Then it changed and he said they felt good but nothing was a done deal. We all know how that turned out.
Actually, to be honest, you hit it on the head. Hell, I even told tmacfor35 or whatever that I was annoyed with him in particular... I think Drew probably does hear things. He called Dwight. But I think it is silly to hang on ant take as gospel his every word, just as it is silly to want to ban him for getting something wrong. It is also silly of him (stupid, actually) to make solid predictions like it's happening this Saturday, Woj will announce it, etc, because no matter what he hears he is not - by his own admission - truly in the mix with first-hand knowledge. He is basing everything on third hand knowledge, which is often incorrect. And as noted, these things often fall apart anyway, so why go out on a limb? This whole thread has turned really stupid, and it's because of those tweets and CFs reaction to them. If I was another team's fan on another team's forum, I would look at this and - rightfully - think one word: pathetic.
