Hmm so right now, next season the suns will have these players locked up. Alex Len, Morris twins, Plumlee, Thomas and Goodwin 22,507,834 (or about there..) then add a 15M contract for Bledsoe(it will be less) and that is 37,507,834. Let's make it 42,000,000 max because I'm bad at numbers and plus they still need to fill out their roster. Next season there might be a couple good free agents at positions they needs. Rudy Gay sort of sucks but he's out there as a wing. I doubt they give him anything. But interesting enough both Marc Gasol and Brook Lopez could be free agents next season and they don't seem like the type that care about the 'market.' Deandre Jordan, Omer Asik and Roy Hibbert could all be sought after as well. Millsap will be a free agent too. I don't know how much he would want though. If Kevin Love isn't a Cav and the Suns make noise in the playoffs then he could be someone they'd be interested in. I think the Suns may go the route the Rockets went this off-season and put all their eggs in one basket hoping to land a free agent. They could also not take the team option on either both, one, or none on either Morris bro. After wards they can just re-sign Dragic after they give him the *wink wink* to not sign with anyone with their bird rights. or I'm wrong because I don't understand how any GM works lol
So now Millsap is back in the mix? Please don't give up my hopes. I'm gullible and vulnerable during free agency.
ok Whew Ok. I woke up late today and am drinking coffee and had to see if I accidentally put liquor in.
I thought one of Morey's comments on Monday was telling. He said that you COULD win it all with Parsons as your 3rd best player, but not with a contract that would inhibit you from doing anything else. Dragic and Millsap are exactly who I would expect Morey to target right now (perhaps that's one reason why we should ignore them....Morey never makes the predictable move). Both can be the 3rd best player on a championship team, and both of their contracts are significantly more flexible than Parsons' is.
Maybe, just maybe, the suns and rockets won't make for good trading partners. We're not getting Bledsoe or Dragic Move on
If we get Dragic, do we still have flexibility for 2016? Im not sure if Morey views Dragic as that 3rd elite player
lol Wanted to rep and haven't found the rep button yet. Hopefully I can figure out where everything is. Bitter much?
That's fair, I do disagree though. I see them as having just as little depth as we do, and they're less flexible to add something between now and the deadline. I think we'll be significantly better than them by playoff time.
Theyve definitely improved. Their problem is that they have almost no flexibility over the next 3 years and this is the team they gotta ride or die with.
http://data.shamsports.com/content/pages/data/salaries/mavericks.jsp Looks like plenty of flexibility to me. Their issue, to me, is going to be defense. Tyson is their only plus defender and he's not the player he was before and need to be re-signed or let go after this season. Dirk and Parsons are OK, but nothing special on D. Monta is a negative defensively. And Felton was just useless next year.
Nope, when Chandler is making the most money on your team, there is definitely a ceiling in place until that contract is off the books.
Dallas may very well be in for a rough season. 1) They have 2-3 new starters. 2) Tyson Chandler isn't who he used to be. 3) Their defense could be atrocious with Harris/Ellis/Parsons starting. 4) Dirk is still good, but he won't be playing for 36+ min/game. 5) Their bench is weak. I think it's entirely possible, perhaps even likely that they miss the playoffs. The Pelicans got better by adding Asik and getting Holiday and Anderson back from injuries. Phoenix will probably be better, depending on what they do. None of Memphis, Houston, Portland, OKC, Spurs, Golden State, or the Clippers got significantly worse. Dallas is competing for the 8th seed again. They have an overinflated view of themselves after taking the Spurs to 7 games.
