I'm going to guess the Rockets will bring back Troy Daniels, who we should really treat as a true addition considering he barely contributed to the Rockets in the regular season. Our bench right now would look like Ariza, Motiejunas, Daniels, Canaan, Johnson, and possibly whoever we sign with the extra cap money we have before Sunday night (+ maybe Brooks/Garcia/Casspi?). That bench is significantly better than last year's bench. I think we're a 2nd round team this upcoming year at a minimum and that's assuming no pre-trade deadline Morey fireworks (praying Love stays in Minny for now).

I think there are a lot of guys out there who could help the Rockets. I'd be all for Humphries on a 1 year cheap deal, team option non guaranteed year 2 type setup. Come off the bench to give us a veteran defender who can grab the boards.

Eh, I actually like what we're doing as a contingency plan. You swing for the fences and try to get a Melo, Bosh, etc - and when that doesn't work, you execute plan B. Parsons was replaceable (done, at half the cost), no need to hobble the team just to retain him. Morey talks about flexibility. Look at a centipede; it has lots of small parts, lots of joints. He is piling up small parts that will allow larger moves in the future. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he had something specific lined up in the near future trade-wise. But he is positioning us to both be in a position to make the trade when opportunity arises and to be competitive in the meantime. Our starting lineup is solid, no question. There's room for improvement at the 4 and the 1, but no roster is perfect; we have a chip-worthy starting 5 - or very close to it. We are all looking at the bench right now thinking WTF, this is a bench full of scrubs. Understand, it's in flux right now. Some of these guys are going to be gone after camp. That is normal. Have patience. They are assets, I am sure they know it, but some of them might actually make the roster. I'd bet on Jeff Adrien making the roster, and possibly ending up starting - and surprising - if we don't trade for as PF. Laugh at the Ish trade if you want, but he might end up being a perfectly serviceable 1 - if we don't trade to upgrade the 1. I think some of these guys will get a chance to prove their worth in camp, and a few of them will make it out in one piece. We are freaking out because the big name dominoes are falling. But you forget that we already have two of our big names, and if the GM can't add a 3rd then his job is to fill out the rest of the roster and bench. We are doing that. You guys get pi$$ed if every signing is not a star name. Well grow the fudge up, most players aren't stars, and guys like the ones we've been signing are complimentary players, meaning they will work well in a role next to our stars. Have patience. Stop freaking out. We are still in good shape, and we have a bada$$ GM who knows how to build a team. And he will settle for nothing less than a contending team. A LOT of teams out there don;t have that luxury.

Morey go after Kendall Marshall before somebody else grabs him. Hes a point guard which what we need for this team.
Looks like they may have reached out to Mario Chalmers. Obviously said no. [rQUOTEr]There was question if the Heat would bring him back. With no longer being wanted a possibility, he mulled offers from the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls. In the end, Miami is where he wanted to remain. "I had conversations with other teams," Chalmers said. "Everybody was waiting to see what LeBron (James) was going to do … In my heart, I wanted to stay, but at the same time if I felt like if I had a better position somewhere else I was going to take it." http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...ario-chalmers-0720-20140719-4,0,4780326.story[/rQUOTEr]
