What an epic screwup for the Warriors if they could have gotten a Love deal done earlier by not playing hardball over Klay freaking Thompson lol.

One of the more hyped prospects of the last decade, who went #1 overall, plus they will probably get back more prospects/picks and along with Verajao to make the numbers work, all for Kevin Love.

Doubt they get Varejao! Lebron loves him to death. I can see Bennett, Waiters, Wiggins, and a first round pick or two though!

That's crazy. Cleveland wouldn't give up a single pick in that scenario. The value in those three players already exceed that in Kevin Love imo.

You really think they'd trade Lebron's best friend on the team?

I'd imagine Tristan Thompson (+Wiggins) gets dealt instead. Since he shares agents with Lebron, this would be in everyone's best interest (TT gets a payday).

    OR —

The Wolves could still consider TJones + Canaan + the Pellies pick.
    Tough decision there for Flip.

The link I posted doesn't mention Varejao:
[rQUOTEr]The latest offer could include Wiggins, power forward Anthony Bennett and a first-round pick. Center Brendan Haywood might be included in the deal to make it work contractually.

That would be a lot of potential talent heading Minnesota’s way. Bennett was the top overall pick in the 2013 draft and appears to be poised to take a major step in his career. He’s now in top shape and the “stretch 4” appears to have high scoring ability.

The Cavs also would be able to hang onto starting shooting guard Dion Waiters in the latest proposal.[/rQUOTEr]

In all honesty, if we can't have him, this is the best case scenario. Besides the fact that the Warriors get screwed and Love goes East, Boston may end up being more amenable to dumping Rondo for our meager haul.

I know Lebron likes having Verajao around, but salaries have to come closer since Wiggins will be on a rookie deal, although still around MLE money. I don't know about Tristan Thompson since he has Lebron's agent and they obviously want to get him paid, but you gotta do what you gotta do to land Love (lol Golden State).

True, hope he works out for Minnesota.

If I'm the Timberpups, I'm trying to make it a 3 team deal to unload Kevin Martin.

[rQUOTEr]The News-Herald newspaper in Ohio this afternoon reported Cleveland is now willing to trade No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins, to the Timberwolves in a deal for Kevin Love.

If the two sides are able to make a deal, it likely will include Wiggins and 2013 No. 1 pick Anthony Bennett, but the teams will have to figure out how to make the money work, considering Love makes $15-plus million and the Cavs are stretched to the cap limit after signing LeBron James and others.

That process could involve a third team in the trade to make the money work if the Cavs are not willing to include center Anderson Varejao, whose nearly $10 million salary would do wonders to make the deal work.

I heard rumblings before I left Las Vegas yesterday that Wiggins could be now be in play after multiple reports in the last week citing Cavs sources say they defiintely would not trade the No. 1 pick and all the promise that he holds.

    What changed?

Well, James has returned this week after attending Sunday's World Cup final in Brazil and perhaps is making his voice heard.

I haven't got the impression today from checking around that trade discussions have yet advanced enough for the Wolves to know whether Wiggins indeed is obtainable, but it does sound like a breakthrough indeed is possible.

They could have had Harden for Thompson, but turned it down.

This seems like a gross exaggeration of his actual potential at this point.

Cavs would be crazy to give up both Wiggins and Bennett! Both have been beasting in summer league play.
