    As I mentioned earlier, the initial download is a rather small file. Once you log in and accept the agreement it will download the full game, which is 11GB.

    Just occurred to me... I'm running my PS4 on a 7 year old plasma through HDMI 1.2 or 1.3 (some older version of HDMI) - am I missing out on anything other than 1080p? Improved framerates?

    No, you should be scrolling down on the left side of the Playstation store to the one of the last options "Redeem Code". Enter it there.
