I root for the Rockets because basketball is my favorite sport and I'm a Houstonian, born and raised. Barry Sanders captivated me as a youth so that's the Lions connection. I don't follow football as closely, but to me the Texans embody everything I don't like about a sports franchise.
Kobe is the closest anyone has come to MJ, you can judge that by "eye test" and/or "numbers". Whichever you prefer.
Harden won't be a superstar until he can get things done when it counts in the playoffs. Real superstars rise to the challenge and not cower in the face of them. They don't seem human at times with how good they are. Aldridge's performance in the first two games against the Rockets in the playoffs are what superstars do on the regular. Just pure dominance. Harden isn't there yet.
Didn't Harden play out his mind when OKC beat the Spurs? He was the main reason why they advanced to the WCF. What did LMA do in Round two against the Spurs? Plus was that his 1st time every getting out the 1st round? But you are right Harden has to step his game up.
I guess Michael Jordan didn't become a Superstar until after his team finally got past the Bad Boys Pistons in the playoff's. LOL
I'm not saying Aldridge is a superstar... I'm saying he played like one for the first two games of that series.
Maybe his idea of a superstar is different then yours. James was 5th in MVP voting, and in my opinion had a better year than Chris Paul and Noah. James is a superstar offensively, no doubt about it. I think he is on the cusp.
Got to play great on both ends of the floor and must make his team mates better. Same with Dwight he has to get a go to offensive move that good 80 % of the time.
is a 3-way with minny and phoenix possible? something like (traded players capitalized) MIN: prospecting rubio/ENNIS martin/robinson/lavine brewer/budinger mbah/MARKIEFF pek/dieng PHO: fun and gun bledsoe/thomas HARDEN/green (wow, look at that backcourt) marcus/tucker D-MO/marcus plumlee/len HOU: title contenders...? beverley/DRAGIC hamilton/DRAGIC/johnson ariza/covington LOVE/jones/capela dwight/dorsey
Boggles my mind there's still some of you out there who honestly believe we have a better shot at the title without Harden.
It depends on what you can get in return for him. I don't think anyone is suggesting to let him walk for nothing. But I would surely trade him for Rondo, CP3 and maybe even Love.
I'm on record saying that if we had gotten Melo, I would have traded Harden for Love. That said, he's the best SG in the NBA and nobody else is close. He's a superstar, and he's not even 25. It's cute when people here get such raging boners over untested young players with 'potential', but when it comes to our 24-year-old, 1st Team All-NBA 2 guard, 80% of their posts are nothing but criticism.
