I am sure there are some of you on this site who knows the ins and outs of how sign and trades can work especially when inoling assets like trade excemptions etc. With the cap space we have and assets do any of you see this as an actuall possibility? Personally, I think Eric Bledsoe is a stud. He is younger at 24 with not a ton of starting experience so i think there is potential for growth into a player who could be a star in this league. I am not sure if I offer him a max yet but something close. So if anyone has been thinking about this and wants to play GM for a little feel free to throw out some possible scenarios.
The fact that Bledsoe is still on the market is puzzling to me. He should definitely get a max offer.
I hate to say it, but there is no way anymore. We don't have the cap space necessary to offer a max contract PHX would likely match anyway, and we do not offer the assets or salary to offer in a S&T.
I don't know how much Morey values Bledsoe, but we could potentially offer TJones and the NO pick. People have been thinking that PHX has way too much money going to their guard rotation. Perhaps they don't want Bledsoe?
Wrote this in the other thread - As for a S&T, I want to know why the Suns would be drawn to the assets they could give them in a S&T in comparison to what other teams would offer? I bet the Suns are probably hoping a team comes to them with a S&T offer, but they are probably thinking more along the lines of Kevin Love from Minnesota or Millsap & Teague from Atlanta. Terence Jones and another late lotto pick from the Pelles????.. not sure.
I read on a suns web site that they are doing with him what Houston wanted to do with Parsons. From what they said, Parsons and Haywood threw a wrench into the plan. Since both of those guys got max deals, he is also looking for a max deal. They are waiting for another team to make a reasonable offer and then match it. If one of these teams comes in and offers the max, there is no guarantee they match. Hard call coming off an injury.
would love to add bledsoe, but dont know how it could happen ... assuming bledsoe wanna come here, s&t for Pels pick, and what ? our 2016 pick ? Tjones ? who's our pf then (lin tpe for ilyasova ?) ?
Yeah, I think you're pretty much spot on. If a trade happens, it's going to be for something substantially more than anything Houston would be willing to offer.
But that quote didn't say the Rockets were in talks/interested with Bledsoe, just Broussard mentioning what teams could use a PG really.
Looking at him, but I think you have something here. Edit: Eric Bledsoe is not your creative PG, if that is what you are longing for. That being said, his PER numbers and defensive numbers while playing the coveted point guard position, show that's his natural position. What he does well is make space with his penetration. You put him anywhere in the top of the key and he will break you down. I'm sure you've heard McHale talk about Harden playing well when he's going downhill. Bledsoe does the same thing, but at very different angles. Just like my favorite PG in the league, Rajon Rondo, Bledsoe owns the FT line area. He's a decent rebounder, gets a reasonable number of assists and his shooting percentages satisfactory. He is very effective at getting to the line (5.5 per game) and has midrange game worth noting. He solves that scoring issue on offense, but makes us far more dynamic in the playoffs when teams try to shut down the three/at-the-basket shots. Phoenix has a better PG currently, so I'm sure they would listen to an offer/work with us on a S/T. He's also injury prone so I imagine that gives us leverage. The thing I like about Bledsoe the most is how his shot selection meshes with both Harden and Dwight quite well. He plays well going right at you from the top of the key, Harden plays best on the left side of the court and he does not utilize Howard's favorite side of the post. http://stats.nba.com/playerShotchart.html?PlayerID=202339 lmdickson, I really like this idea and it doesn't seem impossible, but we may have to give up a TJones for someone like Bledsoe. And who is available to rebound and score near the rim if we do that? DMo still hasn't found his game even though it's there. This would be a tough trigger to pull. I think Mo Williams, Jason Richardson, Ramon Sessions, Carlos Boozer, Elton Brand, and Jermaine O'Neal all look like semi-decent options to add as well. They don't knock you off your feet, but they don't have to. Dwight Howard is still in charge of that.
If you trade TJones and DMo, you could get to around $12 million. Of course at that point, a SnT makes a ton of sense so you could at least keep your MLE and BAE. I prefer Dragic.
Trade Harden, the PF we just drafted and a pick for him and other pieces -- Kieff Morris (PF that fits nicely with Howard), Mar Morris (has grown a lot with the Suns) and Len or Plumlee(center with promice that playes some D) (4 rotation players for Harden (PF) & pick) That is about the only way I would trade for him and help the TEAM. We have no other assets left to get him with. The money would work in a sign and trade. Bledsoe / Bev Ariza / Bledsoe / Johnson(rookie) Morris / Ariza Morris / Jones Howard / Len or Plumlee We now have Bledsoe and a chance at a ring
