Complete the homecoming... Dragic for NOP + Capela + nonguaranteed filler contracts Then... Ilyasova for Lin TE and Buck's TE for DMo + 2nd (2 trades) Howard Ilyasova Ariza Harden Dragic MLE
find it hilarious that people think the Pelican's pick (4-19) and fillers are enough to sway the Suns to trade Dragic.
What makes Rondo so valuable that I'm missing? He's one of the worst shooters in the league that no defense respects. He doesn't even look to shoot most of the time. He looks to pad his assists numbers that have been inflated over the years by playing with hall of famers.
He just needs to pass that rock! Let D12 and la barba take care of the rest. And if we could add Josh Smith to that even better.
What about a 3-way trade between the Suns, Rockets, and Twolves involving these assets as the main pieces. Rockets Receive: Goran Dragic Chase Budinger Suns Receive: Kevin Love Rockets 1st round pick via Pelicans Clint Capella Isaiah Cannon Twolves Receive: Suns 1st round pick via Twolves Suns 1st round pick via Lakers Suns 1st round pick Donatas Motiejunas Throw in Sergio Llull
They just signed Thomas (7.2), drafted Ennis, have the rights to Bledsoe and Dragic is an UFA next year. Someone has to go. The owner is cheap and won't pay for play. So if they have no intention of paying him, NOP is a nice pick for someone on their last year.
Sarver isn't cheap. He just didn't want to pay Joe Johnston $20 million for one year. Can't fault him for that.
Frugal then? Maybe running a team on a budget? His highest paid player is Dragic at 7.5 and all signs point to someone getting moved. You don't draft a PG and then sign a PG to 7+ when you have Bledsoe and Dragic on your roster. Someone has to go. And if the owner is smelling another Joe Johnson situation, getting a good pick now along with an Euro stash to let simmer is a decent haul. After witnessing how much we got for Parsons, maybe he's open to decent offers.
Houston In: Jerebko, Dragic, Plumlee Houston Out: NO Pick, Future Houston 1st, Canaan, Covington Phoenix In: Josh Smith, Houston 1st Phoenix Out: Dragic, Plumlee, Gerald Green Detroit In: NO Pick, Green, Canaan, Covington Detroit Out: Smith, Jerebko
Sarver went over the cap quite a few times to improve/keep his teams together. The problem is he was arrogant and stupid a few times when it came to decision making. Arrogant when he thought he can manage his team himself, and stupid when he hired people who had no business running a team. He's still paying money to Josh freaking Childres and Beasly because of that.
Want more than Budinger if trading NOP pick. Suns make out like bandits but I'm thinking they would want to unload one of their umpteenth PFs if bringing in Love instead of all their 1st rounders.
Obviously the sample size is tiny (30 games), but Rondo average 9.8 assists per game last year. No hall of famers on that squad. Just worth a mention. I didn't watch any Celtic games, so he could've been playing the stat game, still impressive though.
