I went to Tornado Taco and it was awful.

    Related to Tornado Burger?

I tried to tell y'all back in March. Tornado Burger Spicy Philly for the win!

Yes, but it's still the best Philly Cheese Steak I've ever had. I've been to Philly, been to Pat's and Geno's, been to most of the places listed in this thread, and Tornado Burger is still the best. I am biased because I like spicy food, and theirs is amazing.

Jake's steaks are okay, but their hoagies are legit. That's what you get when you go there.

Possibly my favorite sammich there was the philly chicken, plus peppers, no pickles or sauce, and put some ranch and hot sauce on it.

I think it stands for great wraps. I usually grab one after watching a movie there.

Unfortunately, you ordered the wrong sandwich. Like you, I hate their "Philly style steak and cheese" sandwich (the second sandwich on their menu). It's yukky.

The first sandwich on their menu is the one to get - the "Papa Geno's Steak and Cheese". It's delicious!

note: I live about 1/4 mile away from the location on Ella @ 18th.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the input. I'd definitely be down to try them again. What type of cheese is on that one?

Tried Papa Genos a week ago and it's alright. If they have Charlies in Houston, that would be my vote.

Went by Geno's today for lunch after reading this thread (10min away from my job).

Went with "the works". Pretty.....Pretty.....pretty good. Provolone was piping hot. Bread had a nice crunch but was still soft on the inside. 8 out of 10.

The wife and I hit up Papa Genos for the first time yesterday for lunch. I gotta say, it was pretty ****in good. It beat out tornado burger's cheesesteaks by a small margin.

Not a traditional "Philly" Cheesesteak but Antones has probably the best Cheesesteak I've had in Houston.

After you eat Papa Geno's you feel like you might die with all that grease in you.

Their cheesesteak is alright though, bit too much pepper.

Jake's imo. Didn't care for Geno's. Texadelphia isn't even in their league.

I love the spicy philly with cheese whiz at tornado.... stuff is amazing, Papa Genos seems too bland, their hot oil peppers just are so oily and salty that it just overpowers the flavor of the meat and cheese...

I like Jakes... but I always feel like I overpaid for my meal there, comes out to $20 with a full sub, fries, and a beer...they also expect tip for some reason

I can go to Niko Nikos and get more fries and cheese for only $10

Tornado has a beer combo for $10

Moved over by Papa Genos off of Bellaire and every time I try to go it is closed. Twice were Monday evenings around 730 or 8 and once was a wednesday around 830. I dunno if they just closed early those days or what but probably give it one more shot before i give up. Luckily, Bernies is right by there.

Thought that was a non-homemade cheesesteak thing in general (a reason I don't generally like them, with the exception of Papa G's).
