Bingo. He's probably choosing between more somewhere other than Cleveland, playing with Lebron or retiring. I'm not really sure he makes a ton of sense for the Rockets anyway, but I'd surely sign him and let it sort itself out if I could. Would be a logjam at the guard spot: Harden Bev Allen Nick Johnson Cannan Troy Daniels I guess they'd send Nick to the DLeague to start.
I was going to post this. People are just being so negative around here now that it's embarrassing. We have the best SG and the best C in the league, and people are acting like they're ready to commit mass suicide over an overpaid glue guy. Cleveland will likely only offer the vet minimum, so how exactly is Ray Allen using the Rockets for leverage?
I wouldn't be mad about it however, I don't see it happening. & since nobody else has said it, I will. He's going to the Cavs or he's retiring
I think it is a long shot but Allen may sign with the Rockets if enough money is offered. The Rockets may be willing to offer a little bit more than usual because it wont hurt their flexibility long term. Also, Allen could be a bone thrown McHale's way, he said it light hearted, but he still said the Rockets needed more veterans. Can you imagine....... Ariza, Allen, Canaan, Harden, Beverley and Daniels all on the Rockets?... I wonder what the Rockets offense emphasis would be? 33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333
Bev/Canaan/Nick Johnson/Troy Daniels Harden/allen/Troy Daniels Ariza/Punchyournipples/Allen Lots of 3s but not enough minutes to develop the young players you want to develop and keep your vets happy. People going to be unhappy when young guns stuck with RGV. Wonder if you could get away with Harden/Allen/Ariza together on the floor for any significant minutes.
His heart is telling Cleveland (why he is so loyal to Lebron, idk), his mind is telling him houston (a lot more money I'm assuming), his family is probably telling him retire (unless he has a gold digger wife in which case he chooses Houston).
