To be fair, whoever said that, must've looked like a genius for the first month or so. Rubio did look like a franchise point guard the minute he stepped on the court. Elite vision, passing, defense, and he was making shots too. The start was amazing. Good times.
Who gives a care about his start. Do you have any idea how many rookies get off to good starts before the league figures them out and they are never heard from again? Whoever said that about Rubio was clueless. Whoever judges a player by their first month is also. Rubio is one of the most overrated duds the NBA has seen. Regarding a max contract, Brandon Jennings said he deserved one also. These guys must be drinking the same tainted water.
I have to agree with some of you that his career in the league, so far, doesn't merit a max contract. Of course, Parsons' play didn't merit one either.

I still think he can turn into a Kidd. Great passing, great defense as he gains experience. Very slowly developing 3pt shot. Having said that, if he's asking for MAX and I'm the Wolves I trade him NOW, see how Love feels about it. If Love is still not happy, then trade Love too and start over. What would be super interesting is a Rubio for Rondo straight up trade. Wonder if Ainge would bite on that, and if it would change Love's mind.
