what? Was he offended when we waived his option so that he can make 14 M more this year?

    No good deed goes unpunished.

I'm offended that Parsons thinks he could take a Big 3 spot on the Rockets team.

    Couldn't agree more with this.

I would point out one thing and that is he said the Rockets "did him a solid" by letting him out of his contract a year early. So he has acknowledged it publicly.

I've yet to see the quote anywhere, except from you. Do you remember where you saw this? Not questioning you personally, but would like to see the source and when he made that statement.

We as fans are way more hurt and offended than Parsons can imagine.
This whole 3rd star thing is only a metaphor for wanting an Allstar.

He isn't an allstar yet as a matter of fact. He cannot deny it.
You cannot be possibly offended that your team wants an allstar and you are not that.
He is a solid 4th option on a "real contender" and he should be happy and grateful about it.

Getting paid more than Dirk and touted like he is the upcoming Lebron James, that is just plain wrong.
What actually happened to this humble young man in 3 years of time?
The NBA changes you. It changes you.

Thanks! So after days of talking crap about the Rockets (seems like years), he finally mentions the Rockets "doing him a solid." Color me unimpressed. He praised Fegan and his "agency" for coming up with a contract that Houston couldn't match, and then says he was surprised that they didn't! Completely contradictory. In my opinion, his "gratitude" was really a "**** you" to Houston.

Hell, I'm more pissed off after hearing that crap.

He probably said that quietly but the "being offended" part and his ego stood out

I listened to it twice, and he praised his agent for coming up with a contract "Houston couldn't match," and then said that he was surprised that Houston didn't match the damn contract! Ridiculous.

"I don't know what's going to happen after the 2nd year or 3rd year. But I look forward to being here for a really long time.'' -- Parsons

Now, he wants to stay a long time in Dallas, but if some offer more money after the 2nd or 3rd year, he will dont look back and take the money no matter what.

“That was the only thing that bothered me, them saying they needed a third piece to win a championship when I viewed myself as that and did everything for the organization to be that guy. That’s why I was so excited about Dallas because talking to Mark (Cuban) and Rick (Carlisle), that’s how they view me. I hope there’s no hard feelings in Houston. I had to make the best decision for my career.”

Parsons thinks hes better than he is.

Cuban stroked his ego. That's how he got him. The End.

Short version: "Me, myself, and I."

Parsons has shown he's a "me first" player. I'm sure if it were the Sixers or the Bucks that offered him a max contract to be first option he'd sign it without blinking, even if the team did suck.

Parsons was a guy that wasn't even slated to make it on a college team.
Let's not forget he was almost passed up entirely in the draft if it weren't for us.

    So much for staying humble.

No one will offer more. His back will give out. He'll be broke in five years. He's nothing.

Two points: First, do you understand what an agent does? Parsons did not dictate the terms of that offer sheet - that was worked out between his agent and Cuban. Also, the Rox and Morey encouraged CP25 to go get the best deal out there and when he did, they decided (had to actually) not to match it. It was not Parsons' responsibility to sit by and pass up an offer of this magnitude while the Rockets were out chasing free agent tail. In retrospect after hearing Morey's "justifications" for not matching, it would appear that Parsons chose the correct path by looking to his own self interest.

Second, and most importantly, that photo that so hurt your widdle feelings was by Mark Cuban who was most anxious (read desperate) to have something, ANYTHING to sell back to the MFFLs in Dallas after striking out in free agency the past three years. Donnie Nelson has already explained that while they (Mavs) valued Parsons in the $8-$12M range, they knew they had to overpay him in order to force Houston's hand so that they would have a legitimate shot at getting Parsons. Which they did. And it worked.

He's 25 year old. How many times in a player's career (or any career) will he make max money for his expected performance?

You take care of yourself first before anything else in any career. That's called common sense.

Take a college graduate or a person who had been in a field for 3-4 years, and someone offers you the highest you can get in your field. What are you going to do? Turn it down.

The hate on Parsons is just stupid and childish. Everyone of us would have done what he did.
