What in the hell are the people in Dallas smoking? Chandler Parsons a Franchise player? LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooo.. Morey was the only GM in the NBA who drafted the guy after every team passed but he was too dumb to see that Parsons is an obvious "Franchise max type player"? WOW! JUST WOW! No way he's plays up to that deal.
You are 25, boy. This is the age when Tmac started to deteriorate. You don't have many years of prime if you haven't already hit it.
Watch them win the championship next year. Kinda like Battier did shortly after signing with Miami. That would suck.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Mavs?src=hash">#Mavs</a> DEPTH CHART PF: Dirk, Lewis SF: Parsons, Jefferson C: Chandler, Wright, Smith SG: Ellis, Crowder, Ledo PG: Felton, Harris, Mekel</p>— Dwain Price (@DwainPrice) <a href="https://twitter.com/DwainPrice/statuses/489251547344146432">July 16, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> That awkward moment when you paid Chandler 15 mil per year, Dirk got robbed down to HALF of that, and Felton is still at the top of your PG depth chart.
And why did they move crowder to the 2? He's a 3 and will push Parsons for some time. Jefferson is just a towel boy at this point.
The Dallas Mavericks had a two-year, $20 million offer on the table to Stephenson, contingent on the Houston Rockets matching their offer for forward Chandler Parsons. If Houston had matched, Stephenson would have signed with Dallas, sources said. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2078489-lance-stephenson-to-hornets-latest-contract-details-analysis-and-reaction?utm_source=teamstream&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=tsandroid
I was coming here to mention that^ The mavs had talks to sign Stephenson and DeJaun Blair (who they signed to a vet minimum contract last year and performed well) this offseason. However, the parsons contract took up their cap space. Would you rather have parsons for 15 or Stephson/Blair for a combined 12 a year?
As much as I want to, I can't hate...Dallas will be good next year. Is Parsons an elite player? No way But i can see being a lesser paul george type player...not as good on defense, but better defensively than he was with houston in his last couple years. What do you guys predict he averages? Points: 18.5pt/game Rebounds: 6 rebounds/game Assists: 5 assists/game But I wouldn't be surprised to see him average ~20 points a game, as he has a better coach, and can learn some moves from Dirk.
He wont be playing 38 min a game to put up numbers better than he did last year, and is horrible in ISO plays (.54 ppp I believe). If his minutes decrease to 35ish, I wouldn't be surprised if he put up basically the same stats as this year or lower. He may become more efficient/better (aka improve his per minute stats) on both ends, but his overall stats IMO won't vastly improve if his minutes are reduced, because I don't think he plays 38 min a game again, nor do they run out in transition as often (eliminating many of his easy baskets).
I think he will be roughly the same as he was here. He was already playing about the max number of minutes possible. He can improve some, but he isn't getting a pass when he disappears or messes up. He will make the Mavs better, but I don't think he makes them a contender. Unless a miracle happens and Parsons goes from a very good starter to a perennial all star, I don't see how Parsons taking up near max cap space helps his ability to be the "best recruiter in the NBA" either.
He isn't going to play as many minutes as he did in Houston. Also, Ellis will be taking a lot of shots. And Dirk.
