    Rondo

The bigger the game the better he plays. Also, it is a contract year for Rondo and I'm betting he plays lights out.

Randy Foye would be a nice backup point, he's on a 6 million 2 year deal, shot 38% from 3 last season.

Lance Stephenson led NBA in triple doubles last season w/5. Kid is an up and comer. Morey needs to invest in developing young players instead of just acquiring older guys who have already peaked. The older guys are not as hungry, especially the ones who already have rings.

Stephenson will also add energy and intensity. He does whatever it takes to win. He is only 23 and he will mature and drop most of his silly antics. He is someone opponents will actually be slightly intimidated to play against. He is an offensive jack of all trades and he gives 100% on defense. He reminds me of a lot of players from the 80s and 90s that go all out no matter what. I think if we get him in the 10-12 million range we will be buying low.

Rondo is ball dominant AND has no range on his shot. Lin got incredible grief because he could not spot up for the 3. Rondo's 3 makes Lin look like Ray Allen.

And Rondo is not a young 28, his injuries have kept him out for the majority of past 2 seasons, averaging just over 30 games per.

Stephenson is 5 years younger, hungrier, better offensively and more versatile defender. And cheaper to acquirer, no assets needed.

Also a head case, ask Evan Turner.

Maury get Quincy Acy in here as energy defensive 3/4. Let's embrace the defense.

Rockets have had luck with head cases in the past, we all still fondly remember Max and Ron Ron.

I cant for the life of me imagine how Lance is still on the market.

Definitely more of a max player than Hayward or Parsons.

Even Turner is a pretty well-documented b**** and locker room problem himself. That was just a bad move by the front office. Stephenson would be fine here. The headcase stuff is way overplayed just because of his antics with Lebron this year. (Not saying he's an angel, but I'm 100% confident he'd be fine here.)

How realistic of options as free agency dwindles on and teams are starting to be capped out are Greg Monroe, Emeka Okafor, Eric Bledsoe, Shawn Marion, Ramon Sessions, Evan Turner, Lance Stephenson, Jerryd Bayless, Mike Miller, etc using the exceptions

And using the NOLA pick plus the 8.3 mil TPE and a young player or non guaranteed contract for Rajon Rondo (who Boston want to get something for and clear cap space and a player blocking the development of Marcus Smart), Josh Smith (Detroit cap cutting), Paul Millsap, Goran Dragic (PHX's 3 starting caliber PG's), Luis Scola, Wesley Matthews, Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson, Draymond Green, Reggie Jackson (restricted FA next summer, should fetch Parsons money)

It seems like these are the depth increasing but short term contracts that can made that keep the Rockets flexible next summer and beyond and gives them a starting five that are above average too superstar level as well as adding a solid bench player with a moveable contract.

    Beverley
    Canaan
    Harden
    Johnson
    Daniels
    Ariza
    Jones
    Motiejunas
    Covington
    Papki
    Howard
    Capela

Still 3 open spots Garcia and Brooks could fill a spot or both possibly with 1yr vet deals at the end if need be.

I still see flexibility for Houston too land a quality backup C, SF or upgrade the starting PG spot with Bledsoe (would elect for the reserve role player latter)

And then using the trade picks, TPE, possibly Covington/Canaan too either upgrade the starting PG spot (Rondo, Dragic, Jackson), starting PF spot (Smith, Millsap, Gibson, etc)

Without a real big 3 in the NBA now that LeBron has left, I think Harden and Howard stack up considerably well against most teams with two superstars.

Rondo/Bledsoe/Dragic/Beverley/Jackson + Ariza + Millsap/Smith/Gibson/Green would be three role players that stack up nicely too any of the teams with two stars (Miami, Chicago, San Antonio, LA Clippers, Memphis, Golden State, etc)

BOLD trade predictions! (Before season starts)

    Alright boys and girls...

Give me your BOLD predictions. And of course... keep them realistic... but Bold.

    Here is mine...

THE TRADE: P Bev, T Jones, 2015 first round draft pick, 2016 first round draft pick, and Cash to Boston for Rondo. --- We would maybe throw in either Canaan or Troy Daniels too.

Then, we pick up Aaron Brooks to back him up.

    Boom.

    Rick Reeves ‏@NBAReeves 1m

George Karl: #Rockets let Parsons go because they are going after a PG - and I don't think it's Rondo. #Celtics

    Must be Bledsoe or Dragic.

Wildcard, if the Nuggets break down and rebuild, Ty Lawson would be excellent.
