Why do people continue to say Parsons can create his own shot?

This is how Parsons scored his points:

    1. Wide-open 3's.

    2. Running the floor on the fast break and getting a lay-up or 3-point shot.

    3. Camping out by the 3-point line and waiting for the kick out, then he would pump fake and take it in for a lay-up.

    4. He'd make a nice basket cut every-now-and-then and get a lay-up.

The vast majority of the time, he was either hitting a 3 on a kick-out, pump faking and getting a lay-up on a kick-out, or scoring on a fast break.

He wasn't somebody that a player could pass the ball to and he'd create and make something happen. That was never Parsons' game... and it baffles me as to why people are saying it.

His pump fake was among the worst soo slow and awkward and would do it even if there wasn't anyone 10 feet from him.

Wish I could start threads...I was wondering the same thing...

If he tries to do too much in Dallas they'll suffer...If he goes there and plays third fiddle to Dirk and Monta, then he'll be fine.

Ariza can do all these things with a better release on his jumpshot, and tenacity on defense

    For half the salary

When you've got Harden and Howard attracting defenders, it's much easier to get "your own" shot.

He's Shane Battier with better offense and worse defense.

Because people on here talk about how Parsons shot-creating ability will be missed...

    and I say:

    What shot-creating ability?

Yeah I believe it was the 10 3s game that for some genius reason McHale decided to give the ball to Parsons to iso for the last shot. It did not go well.

He can create his own shot. He didn't do it regularly, and he isn't great at it, but he can do it. Mostly depends on who is guarding him.
