I'm 100% certain that Rockets and Parsons are on board with him not signing an offer sheet (as favor for him making well beyond the 800k he originally wod make this season) and letting the Rockets do things in free agency and then giving him the contract he's seeking

The problem with this, at least according to my understanding, is that they can't go above the salary cap if they don't get a high dollar offer from someone else....

wow that is a ridiculous pay cut

When Duncan took his alleged paycut it was after he looked washed up and many speculated he might retire. Same with Ginobli.

They found the fountain of youth and contributed to another title team. Neither left money on the table.

Dirk just took a massive freaking paycut. He was offered a max by both the Rockets and the Lakers and instead signed for something in the range of $40 to $55 million less.

    Holy crap.

You know Cuban is giving Dirk some back door money through investments or something... I bet he gets some ownership in the team after he retires. That good ol "hand shake wink-wink" deal

Yeah pretty dumb too. Cuban broke up a championship team in Dirk's prime for three years just to sign Chandler Parsons.

Way More. If you just assume the Rockets offered a 3 year deal at the max they could clear and say about $20 million, that's a $60 million deal vs $25. That's $35 million right there. If they'd offer him a four year $88 million deal they offered Bosh, then he passed on $63 million guaranteed.

Dirk stays loyal to a guy who completely gutted the team after their championship to go on a relentless pursuit of stars. Class act all around. If he didn't play for Dallas, he'd probably be my favorite player not in a Rockets uniform.

You sir are full of it. It's what happens when a guy instead of going out and having baby-mommas everywhere, stays home, goes to the gym and takes his dollars and puts it away. In other words, an adult.

Some on the internet are just rear-ends. You don't have a clue, but you blithely accuse dirk of being dishonest.. I only have to assume it's because you are.

This doesn't make sense at all. Who would pass that type of money. Dirk doesn't even have an agent and his only endorsement is Nike shoes. Dick face Cuban is paying back door money no doubt.

Is there any doubt that there is some sort of under the table agreement with vet star players & their billionaire owners?

I guarantee you Dirk has some sort of partial ownership coming his way, or he's going to be hired on as a consultant making 5mil a year when he retires.

    ......

Also, other star players have to hate this. He's allowing the CBA to defeat the players, and setting a precedent for future vet stars to take huge pay cuts to sign guys like Chandler Parsons to max contracts.
