    This is why agents love free agency, because unpopular teams/cities have to overpay to either lure away (Parsons) or keep (Rubio) second tier talent. It's nuts, but I completely understand why Minny would do it.

    The Hayward Effect is still going strong. wow. i guess the trend is to give a max deal to players based on potential???? I would be suprised if he gets this but then again maybe not. There are always ppl like Cuban.

    I jumped off the Rubio bandwagon a couple years ago. But damn, even Rubio fans will have to think this is insane. We all know he's a poor outside shooter, but isn't he also a poor finisher at the basket? It sucks having a perimeter player who is so limited on offense, so to pay him max would be crazy.

    Rubio and Max? Please. Yes he have improved, but on the level of Chris Paul or Rondo? Nah. I don't see that.

    No, he isn't really worth the max, but I'd take those 9 assists per 32 minutes a game. Imagine a REAL point guard setting up Dwight.

    Plus he'd be a marketing bonanza for the right team.

    This also might be the perfect way to get him out of Minnesota, as he really wants.

    "Max!"

    "12 million!"

    "MAX!"

    "Flip, no way I'm gonna pay that. Start taking calls."

    He's the most fully developed 23 year-old you'll ever see. The guy has been playing pro ball since he was 15, so it isn't as if he has a huge upside.

    I remember when DD (or maybe someone else) said he would be a top 5 PG the minute he stepped on the court. Sheer lunacy.
