So, we lose 3 rotation veterans, gain 1 veteran, and bring on 3 rookies (4 if you count Daniels who only played a handful of games last season). Looks like we're treating this season as a pivot year instead of a real opportunity to contend.

 

Let's wait for it all to play out to decide how we are treating it.

We WERE treating it as a go for the gold year by targeting a player that would have made us instant favorites. That blew up and now we are regrouping. There are still free agents to be had and Morey did indicate we would use the MLE and the BAE. Still time to add veterans.

 

This is what I am liking about what Morey is doing. He is bringing back toughness to the team. I can't wait to see the final roster but still need a backup C, maybe Okafor can be that missing player.

 

After doing two minutes of research on this guy and watching a youtube video, he looks like a Casspi replacement.

 

Just throwing this out there, no idea of the prices or inner workings, but what about Llul and Gentile?

 

I forgot about Gentile. He could be a good backup for Harden.

I'm not sure, Pap is explosive to the basket and is elite on defense. Casspi was just a body that brought almost nothing to the team.

Rockets desperately needed a high-energy guy last year and Papa looks like he fits the mold. On those days when the first group is lagging or JH looks like he spent the night at Treasures....

I know you meant it complimentary, but Shane Battier lite is a scrub.

Battier was a glue guy who played strong defense and would hit each part of the stat sheet but not any one particular line would stand out.

A lite version of that would be...ok defense that barely contributes anything on the stat sheet.
