When Dirk retires in 2 years, no superstar is going to want to play with a max-contract Parsons and Monta Ellis. But given Dallas's inability to recruit big name free agents through the years, Parsons is telling them exactly what they want to hear.
I'll put a $20 tip jar bet that Parsons does not improve to 18ppg. He's not going to have the spacing he had in Houston.

Houston really did not have such great spacing last season, with its regular bigs not being great threats from distance. The team certainly didn't have anyone to draw opposing bigs out of the paint to the same degree as Dirk Nowitzki does.

They kept the powder dry for 3 straight years to finally sign their next Superstar...Chandler Parsons. Dirk can't be German because German's aren't stupid.
Next year they have 20MM coming off the books, and will likely swing and miss on every big FA they chase. Again.
They will probably make runs at Aldridge and (M) Gasol, but whiff on both. They'll end up resigning Chandler (maybe), and then signing a bunch of other driftwood and claiming victory as Dirk's career slowly slides into the ether.
