Are we going to pretend we just didn't gain a lot of valuable experience?

I thought he signed with the Grizzlies (a 2/3 deal)

I think that's where the assistant coach comes in. I think they like McHale's presence, but know he has his limitations, so they're looking for an asst coach who can help him on that end and has a strong personality.

He signed with the Griz. Marion is a better fit for us anyways.

Agree, we need experience, the playoffs the last few years have shown that. Like you said Ariza is in his prime with playoff experience and championship experience (he won a ring with the Lakers). He also gives us some pretty good size and defense on the perimeter.

I really don't understand these comments....Did we not gain a lot of experience? Did we not need it? Was lack of it not a problem? Is it not going to help?

I agree there's an upside to breaking up the fun bunch. Farewell secret handshakes. These guys are gathered to play basketball, not to let the good times roll. Dwight's going to be focused. I think Harden will sober up because of what just happened. The cavalry's not coming: it's on him. Ariza made it to the second round last season and he has a ring; I think he's intent on the playoffs.

Agree, except it wasn't just random dudes lighting up the team. As much as I like Harden, there seemed a strong corollary between being Harden's primary defensive matchup (just based on lineup) and that player lighting up the Rox.

Aria is nice. But improved Harden defense would really do wonders for the team.

Parson' last 3 steps on the last shot!

First time I had a look at the last shot, Parson's ran away from the shot, experience would have blocked the shot.

Why debate over spoiled milk, Deng signed with Miami. Rockets need to trade for someone decent or sign a one year contract for someone that can contribute.

That last play was bad coaching, the shot was either going to be taken by Lillard or Aldridge and thus our best defenders should have been on them, meaning Beverly and Howard. Howard was guarding Aldridge but Beverly was guarding Mo Williams.

Odd that you say not to cry over spilled milk and in the next breathe criticize a play from the past.

Because we're going to get milk again and we don't want it to spill, again.

As for your second post, it doesn't sound like you're familiar with what happened on that shot. Had nothing to do with coaching.

As far as experience goes, sadly these years playoffs did not show any improvement from the 2013 playoffs vs. Thunder. Injuries played their part, but individually, coaching and team defense actually regressed imho.
