Agreed. BK is just 22 years old. He's very talented. Good defender. Team player playing on a piss poor team for the first 3 seasons of his career. Can shoot the ball. He's a fit here as well.
Very true. It was awareness that was his issue, so maybe that's something that comes from him being young, maybe a little slow to learn, and coaching/accountability. However like I said... he's a 2nd year player that was a high upside draft pick late in the 1st round. Its unfair to expect much more than he gave us at this point. No need to trade him for no reason. If you traded every 2nd year player that had flaws you wouldn't have any players under 32 in the NBA.
I wouldn't even put Jones on the table. I'd want Ilyasova and keep Jones. Ilyasova and Jones would be a NICE rotation at that spot. Losing Jones... it would be a marginal upgrade - at best. And possibly a step backwards depending upon how he develops this season. So just take him out of the equation right now...
Surprised Carl hasn't stepped in to add his take about Les needing to maintain his quota of one Asian player on the roster at all times.
His contract length is good. Should be tradable as long as he performs. 2 years guaranteed with a third year that is a team option (guaranteed for 0.4M). If he is a great fit, we can keep him for 3 years. The only better contract length out there are expiring contracts.
I know it's smart for Morey to be patient right now, but this makes so much sense. I would go for it if he really is available. Then again, I'm not very patient!
I'd love to have this guy on the Rockets. Great fit. This team needs a 3-point shooter at that position. He's not a bad rebounder either. If we're not getting any of the elite players, an Ilyasova or Ryan Anderson's the next best thing.
I'd rather have the pick. The pick has more trade value than Jones does. Will help us acquire Love or Rondo. Jones won't.
I'd rather have Ilyasova than Bosh. He's a better fit, cheaper, and no more of an unknown than Bosh, since Bosh has been coasting for 4 years. Plan on using him off the bench. A smaller work load would help keep him healthy. His health will probably improve just by leaving the Bucks. They have a way of making their players ill and injured. If we're just taking a salary dump then it shouldn't cost us much. I wouldn't give up more than Montiejunas, Gee and a signed non-guarantee like Garcia, Hamilton, or Powell to make the trade work. I'd be reluctant to give up anyone else.
First choice should be Love, second choice should be Millsap, and the third choice should be Ilyasova.
My biggest thing is... We didn't match Parsons, so we have to have use the spare cap space to fill out the roster. There are players out there that we can add to compliment Harden and Howard that aren't star players. Morey is the man when it comes to finding value in unwanted players, this just seems so obvious I'm not sure why we haven't moved on it.
Me neither. I mean, I know I'm no NBA GM, but a year ago we would have been extremely happy to have him. He played hurt and had a poor year, but he didn't forget how to play. If the bucks are trying to move him we need to get him.
Forget about Love. He wants to go to LA and more specifically the Lakers. He's fool's gold for anyone else to take.
Lock him up, you can always move that 15-16 expiring contract if it doesn't work out llyasova/jones is a solid PF rotation, there's not really any stretch 4s out there so we might as well buy low... Even frye was $9mill 4yrs
went from 45% from 3 to 28% last year. probably due to his poor health. he's a good fit, but it's a big risk with 3 years left on his deal
