Let's help get him to Atlanta, make Milsap expendable! As J.R. pointed out, if Parsons isn't our 3rd piece, then neither is Monroe.

Well he would solve our biggest problem last postseason: defending the 4. He would also be a huge help defender (remember Howard going for every block? Smith would be able to pick up his man) and good rebounder. He is also a nice passer. His problem is he loves to shoot but can't shoot worth a damn. If he comes here and knows his role, he would help us extremely. If he doesn't he could even hurt us. I'd be fine with getting him - as long as we get him for practically nothing. Stephenson would still be my choice though.
I would be Monroe has so much potential. More potential then CP IMO. If we signed Monroe, he would benefit from Kevin McHale deeply.
I like Josh, but he's subject to lose his mind at any point and take 20 jump shots in a row _ and miss them all.
If we S&T for Monroe, you've got to think he's a trade asset for Love. You've got to believe Minnesota likes him a lot.
Josh Smith hasn't played on a team where he wasnt the 1st or 2nd option. Put him on the Rockets and our defense gets remarkably better and he can play off the ball. That said, his contract is a little on the larger side and he is an athletic player that is on the decline. I'd rather look elsewhere.
Monroe plays more like a 5 than a four, and the Wolves are quite strong there, but I do feel that they want him.
Monroe on Rockets makes no sense. I like the player as a general asset, but I mean, unless he's really cheap, dude does not mesh with us. He has a back to the basket, clog up the center lane sort of game that does NOT space out the floor. Him with Dwight will be like Asik and Dwight on offense. Defensively, he is inferior to Asik...so that's almost like a step down (but I imagine we'd be playing more). Now he certainly has upside, but the lack of a midrange jumper, not elite defense and I go huh??? Factor in that he is too small to play at the 5 for too long and we're just stuck questioning the move for our team. Much better players to trade for out there.
I see no chance of this happening, but Monroe is a better player than Parsons. Not a great defender, but at least capable because, well... he's tall. He scores more per 36, though at a slightly lower TS%, but is a better rebounder and has a better PER, despite the fact that PER isn't great at factoring in defense, where again to me Monroe is better than Parsons. Again, seems VERY unlikely that Morey would want Monroe as that third guy, just not a great fit, but I would value Monroe above Chandler Parsons. The Parsons/Hayward love this offseason was very strange. I'd much rather have Bledsoe or Monroe at the max than Hayward or Parsons.
Have you watched him play? He doesn't play back to the basket! Sure he can't shoot, but he's really great at transition.
