but the S5 still works with standard mini-usb. They've just added a modified cable as the primary which can keep others from accidentally taking it if there phone only handles mini-usb. I've also found the camera to perform very well. much better than my iphone5's.
Breh, stop being stupid. It is a STANDARD MICRO USB 3.0 cable. It is backwards compatible with a STANDARD USB 2.0 cable.
FYI, for those interested, the LG G3 is available for ordering online (for real ordering, not pre-ordering from the looks of it). I think it's supposed to be in stores this Friday.
Ordered the LG G3 earlier today. I've read a lot of reviews and decided to just pull the trigger, especially since I travel with an external battery charger anyways. I could always use the excuse that I can wait for the next phone, but sooner or later you gotta pull the trigger. I'll post my thoughts on it when I get it sometime next week.
If I can't get the Oneplus One soon, I may look heavily into the G3. My only qualms is that its battery life doesn't seem great, and the screen, from what I've read, isn't a huge step up. And those two coincide. And they're the two most touted features. And I heard the camera is very plain. Not sure how I feel about that, since I was excited about it due to the laser focus, or whatever.
I bought a G3 during lunch today. I haven't messed around with it much, but I should be set for the next 2-3 years.
In case you don't know about this amazing app on android... http://media-apps.cc/android/ Free movies and TV shows updated everyday. If you want to store on TV using Chromecast, download Localcast app from Play Store. Works fantastic. If you want to stream on Roku, download AllCast app.
I am currently on my OnePlus One at the moment on a rooted and optimized CM11S ROM. I'll switch to Paranoid Android or Pacman when they get better releases.
Wtf. Invite? Didn't think anyone here had one... I was planning on spreading two here and one on the oneplus boards when I got them. How'd you get one? I can't seem to. Been working their boards like crazy. One guy told me he'd give me one today, and two minutes later, he gave it to someone else. Been trying so hard to get one. It was such a disappointment this morning. Lol.
lol. What? I'm serious. I buy a new phone when my current one becomes borderline unusable, and for the last 2 phones that's been about 3 years and 2.5 years.
Good job. I can't tell you how jealous I am. Been waiting for a few months now. Entered every contest. No such luck. Like I said, thought my wait was ending today. Still no luck. How's the phone? Do you like it? Any yellowing on the screen?
Good build quality. Pretty solid in the hand. The sandstone backing is weird feeling at first, but feels great after awhile. No yellowing of the screen so far. Only gripe I have hardware wise is it came with one stuck pixel almost dead center. Tried all the apps and videos to fix it but to no avail so far. Guess I'll just have to live with it. Speakers are loud. Screen is beautiful. That's all I can say there. Software wise, I'm an AOSP user so CM11s is familiar with its customizations and whatnot. I will definitely switch to PA or Pacman once they're ready for prime time on this phone. I do miss the SPen from my Note 3 and the dark blacks from the AMOLED display.
LOL... I am slow with getting the latest technology. I am still using a GS3, but on my fifth ROM (now on AICP 5.0, a 4.4.4 ROM). Before that I was on an also aged HTC Thunderbolt that had run a number of ROMs (SOAB, ThunderShed, Infected). Heck, I just bought a Nexus 7 (still stock) but I also like my HP TouchPad, having rooted it from the getgo to dualboot WebOS and Android... now WebOS is completely gone and the thing works great still using a 4.4.4 ROM (CM11). New phones and tablets seem faster/bigger/prettier... but since I can't afford to buy new devices and contracts I am happy squeezing out whatever performance I can out of the old stuff I have. But I do enjoy reading about the new ones, so sorry for the topic detour...
Sounds nice! Can't wait to get an invite and finally the phone. I'm not huge fan of PA or pacman, or I should just say I don't find a lot of their futures useful for my purposes. I'll provably stick to CM. May not even root for quite some time. Sorry about your pixel. I've heard of people with that problem. P.S. check the oneplus boards, a dev posted what he says is official PA.
