Only 75%. Morey tried his best but when accounting for talent and improved defense he had to go with 50 - 75%. My wife thinks he is much better looking than Parsons but she likes guys with muscles. The skinny white prick look isn't her thing.

Perhaps....but think about this, weren't we going to bring Parsons back if Bosh was signed??

Next year they coud've gone out to sign a 3rd star....and then go over the cap to bring Parsons back. Seemed like a no brainer to me.

How did not picking up the option affect the superteam?? If the option got picked up his salary was 900k roughly.....when he was a RFA i saw his salary cap space was at 2+ mill figure.

Why do we care what color a player is? Ariza is a better defensive player and both Harden and Howard can make up the point scoring difference. The player could be purple for all I care, winning is what it's all about.

Morey went for it all. if Parson wasnt made a free agent could they have offered Bosh or Anthony a full max.... It is my understanding they could not!

The Rockets seem to have been willing to match Parson, but without Bosh it was not the direction they were wanting to go.

Morey has found Budinger, parson, Beverly, Lowrey, Dragic, etc.... The NBA IS FULL OF PLAYERS WHO THOUGHT THEY WERE JORDANS EQUIVALENT GROWING UP.

Bosh used Houston to squeez a max max contract from Miami. Dallas took advantage to try and lure an Allstar in Parson.

Esentially the Rockets have a similarly talented team again. One that if it meshes well will be a championship calibur team. Maybe not the favorite, but in contention.

With Howard and Harden the Rockets will have enough talent to challenge anyone.

Forget model boy Parsons...adding Monroe, Ariza and Brooks would be a very successful offseason.

Was Parson an all star? I don't usually watch the all star game. What position did he play? Beer salesman?

I like how you laid that out. Makes it a lot more palatable for me.

haha i see what you did here ;)
alot of posters replying to you as if you are serious on this too.....

The FACT of the matter is.....it actually will be EASIER for the rockets to add a MAX FA contract like a BOSH if we had picked up Parson's contract, and alot of CF-ers are too stupid (no offense, just stating the fact) to see that while linking up the two moves- chasing MAX FA & letting parsons become RFA- as if one is conditional upon the other.

Get your head straight.....Freeing Parsons to be RFA INCREASED his CAP HOLD, thus making it harder for us to offer a MAX FA........the only reason MOREY gambled is so he could potentially lock parsons in at a slightly cheaper price per year.....

Given how things turned out, i am starting to lose the vibe that we got Boozered......instead, it appears Morey tried to lowball Parsons and getting his a$$ punked by Fegan instead. I hope I am wrong though, because hating on Parsons is much easier than KNOWING Morey has himself outsmarted.

Morey doesn't just "deal with it."

Here is my take...we were not going to win a championship this year and were going to lose Parsons next year. We essentially get 3 more years of Ariza at 8 million a year. Ariza is a tad worse than Parsons, but not 8 million per year worse. Not even close, so it was a good move by Morey. What pains me is the horrendous trade of Lin for nothing in return. We gave 8 million dollars, a 1st rd pick and a 2nd rd pick just to unload a decent player. At least with Asik we got a 1st round pick. The NBA commissioner should have stepped in and stopped the trade to the Lakers as they did a few years back due to its one sidedness.
