DM could have retained Parsons at a cheap price.

We'll have plenty of money when Howard leaves...even more when Harden leaves.

These are the only player who will be available to us

I see can see Rondo, Milsap and Dragic all possibly staying with their teams. I can also see Love going to the Lakers, or being traded to cavs very, very easily.

We'd either have to trade Ariza
Or get rid off everybody except Ariza Harden and Howard (just to have 16 million)

How ****ing stupid, Morey, please have something up your sleeve, please.

Although the Rockets will have salary cap, but which allstar players would join the team?
    Melo said No!
    Bosh said No!
Lebron?oh, he didn't know where the Houston r.
Morey is waiting for Love or Rondo or Aldrige
There r big Money next year in New York or LAS or Boston why will these allstars join the Rockets?
Morey can't understand what the reality is

Les has handed out plenty of cash for various reasons other than luxury tax. Les obviously would have been open to paying the luxury tax if we got Bosh and matched Parsons.

How much money will we have in 2021 when Wiggins is and UFA? Maybe we can stay flexible and go after him and Parker. Maybe Exum will be free?

Making not just 1, but 2 or 3 trades now looks like the LOGICAL way to go to acquire another all star caliber player, but I also thought the LOGICAL thing to do was to exercise the TO on Parsons so there is that.

we won't have $15M IMO, but if you keep Beverly, TJones, DMO, Daniels, etc. You probably have around 10-11. Is 4x46 enough for Dragic if you show up on his doorstep at midnight? I think so (and McHale loves him).

Let everyone else chase Kevin Love since he's going to sign with the Lakers anyway.

I honestly hope Howard opts out in 2016, so that we could re-up for 5 years and offer him the max. I want him to retire a Rocket barring in injuries in the coming years.

Everybody keeps whining about how terrible of a GM Morey is, and how he's dumb, blah, blah, blah....

But had Chris Bosh decided to come to Houston instead of going back to Miami, we'd be talking about how much of a "Wizard Morey is". People need to get over themselves. When you're a GM that doesn't think they have a championship roster, they have to CONSISTENTLY do whatever it takes to be able to attain that Championship roster. If you have a problem with what D.Morey did, then I assume you also have a problem with him acquiring James Harden and Dwight. Because he played the same game then, and it got him 2 All-NBA players. And he's going to keep playing the game until he gets the missing piece, and then he'll do whatever it takes to KEEP those guys.

Until then, let's calm down on the whiny hypocritical complaining.

I'm questioning your intelligence. You act like our goal was to remain cap flexible, when it was to use our cap and pay luxury tax by adding LBJ/Melo/Bosh/Lowry and matching Parsons. It backfired, and they only smart thing to do is remain flexible instead of just making incremental improvements that could affect making major improvements.

If this free agency offseason taught us anything its that the sexy names will get the max-

Max guys (if free agency started today)-

Love, LMA, Dragic, Gasol, Rondo, Millsap, K. Thompson, Hibbert, K. Leonard

Guys to watch that could be overpaid-

    T. Harris, Afflalo, R. Gay, Faried

    ............

RFA- Thompson, and Leonard are all RFA's. I think those 2 are matched fairly quick.

Superstar types- Gasol, Love, LMA will get the red carpet treatment much like Melo got this year & Dwight before them last year. The market will almost assurely get held up until all 3 guys are off the market.

Love likely gets traded somewhere that he intents on extending with. If he doesn't end up in Cleveland by the start of training camp its just pure stubbornness out of Dan Gilbert. Either way I'll be shocked if he's truly on the market this Summer. TBD.

LMA- I'll be shocked if he's not extended to a max deal before the season starts. Side are already talking. Not sure what the holdup was... probably free agency flexibility.

Gasol IMO will be the big name in free agency. He will likely choose between Memphis, NYK, Boston, Lakers, and watch out for San Antonio.

Not bad a year for Gasol to hit free agency unrestricted.

    .............

    The leftover guys -

Rondo, Dragic, Millsap, Hibbert will all be in a situation much like Chandler Parsons was this year. At least 2 or 3 teams will get left out in the cold for Gasol & end up feeling the need to go after the next big names which will be these guys.

Needless to say, Houston's poultry 11 to 15 million they will have in free agency just isn't going to be enough unless they get extremely lucky. Right now I'm counting something like TWELVE teams that are setup to potentially have max cap room next Summer.

Rondo, Dragic, and Millsap are almost surely going to get max offers right after Gasol commits, and you might even see Tobias Harris, Rudy Gay, DeAndre Jordan, and Kenneth Faried get maxed as well.

The Rockets NEED to make a trade to get their next cornerstone piece or pieces. They aren't going to be able to waste another year hoping that a player like Rondo falls to them next year in free agency with the amount of cap space they have. Morey has to be smarter than to NOT know this.

Free agency 2015 is a no-go as far as I'm concerned. The must act quicker than that.

There was obviously something else at play, behind in the scenes, in this scenario.

I don't think it'll be through free agency. We'll be competing with LA, NY, PHX, BOS and more next time around... too risky.
