This isn't the rap game, plenty of white players can ball. Parsons has more game than most, and that includes all ethnicities.
That's the stupidest thing I've read in a long time. Why do fans expect athletes to take pay cuts to help out "their team"? And when they don't take pay cuts, they are labeled as losers, selfish etc. Outside of certain rare circumstances, taking pay cut to help out the team = sacrificing personal income to improve the income of the team owner. For an athlete, caring about an organization = giving their best effort while still under the employment of said organization. It sure as hell does not mean volunteering to take significant pay cuts. Let me ask you this, have you ever taken a significant pay cut to help out the profitability of your company? Do you put the needs of our employer above the needs of yourself or your family? If not, you have no right to call Parsons, Melo, Bosh etc as selfish losers just because they refused to take a significant pay cut.
Earlier when I found out I wasn't upset that we lost Chandler per se. It was the fact that we lost him for nothing. Also to the Mavs that's bad, but after reading the other thread about him thinking he is a Star, I'm over it, guy can barely create his own shot, Harden made him look good most of the time. I'm over it.
2014. Look it up. The year Lebron opted out and went to Cleveland. Maybe you heard about it. I'm not talking about two or three years ago. Bosh is a dinosaur in more ways than one. You think Bosh was the reason they won titles? LOL Let's see how he does next year and the year after with no Lebron.
The team is worse, end of story. After moving Lin and Asik, we just lost Parsons. Look at our bench right now. Dmo? Canaan? Daniels? The talent left on the market are average at best. Nobody is saying Parsons is a max guy, but we saw on many occasions that our offense went to **** when he left. Everyone b****es and moans about Harden dominating the ball, losing Parsons hurt how the offense flows because he moves without the ball amount other things. Ariza is a catch and shoot player. Stand in the corner. For those you were not around or forgot, Ariza used to play here and when he tried to create it was horrible to watch, cringe worthy. And he is a streaky shooter. Sure his shooting percentage has gone up...playing in the East. He is still streaky and it won't take most of you long to turn on him. The only superstar free agent next season is Rondo...so the odds are low is getting him and we have detailed the negatives of having Rondo. I would agree that without Parsons, Rondo is a better fit now but we just bombed on Melo, Love (early reports had Parsons being the key to getting Love) and Bosh. I can accept missing out on the big stars, but not when the end result is the team taking 2 steps backwards.
You can throw out stats all you want about player efficiency and win shares but therein is the problem with Daryl Morey. He's a damn analytics guy and that doesn't work with regards to sports. He knows nothing about basketball and he treats players as assets. How can a team grow like the Spurs is he continues to drastically change the roster. He has single handedly gutted the Rockets in a matter of days. Keep defending your boy houactuar.
And don't forget the double standard that it was okl when D12 took less than max to be a Rocket but not for the superstar CP25.Just look at the facts and tell me who really wanted to be a Houston Rocket.Just like Perry ,I rest my case. You CPOFs can't stand the truth, face it you in love with a dude.
Chandler Parsons = Tony Romo. Overpaid. Overhyped. Disappears in the playoffs. Feel free to ad to this comparison...
Honestly, this is the best post of this thread. Morey wanted a third max player plus Parsons. Parsons wasn't his third max player, and if some team wants to use all their cap to sign him, so be it.
Ethnicity: Mexican, Spanish, Polish, German Tony Romo is an American, NFL quarterback. He was born Antonio Ramiro Romo, in San Diego California, on April 21, 1980. Tony’s father is a second-generation Mexican-American, and likely has Spanish ancestry. Tony’s mother has German and Polish heritage. Tony’s paternal grandfather, Ramiro Romo Sr., moved from Múzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico, to settle in San Antonio, Texas.
Learn something new every day, would rep if I could. It's fun discovering new facts about famous athletes whom I think suck.
It doesn't matter whether he deserves a max contract... He was offered one. By a willing party. Period. End of story. No player deserves or doesn't deserve anything. If a GM offers a contract, he thinks the player is worthy of the contract. These guys are dealing with big money and have to judge which players will be most efficient with that money.
It does matter. Oh sure, he will get his money from Mark Cuban as Cuban is free to piss away his money as he sees fit. But it does matter for the Rockets in their decision to match or not. If they do not think he deserves it, then they don't match it. More to the point, they did not think matching increased their chances of winning a title. They like their chances without him and the use of resources to pick up someone better. So he wasn't worth it to them. And that is what matters and that is why he is in Dallas. End of story.
