LOLOLOLOLZ. What a troll. Morey netted us Harden and Howard from shuffling the roster. If contender or bust is your mentality than there is only 1 good gm each year. "Cult of Morey", whatever troll. It's called being a good GM, can't win every time, every move, every trading season.

How'd we get Lowry, Dragic, and Harden? I'm not expecting that caliber of a player but it's certainly possible to add a solid role player. Or get lucky next time with a high caliber play through FA (Dwight) or sNt.

I'm not "ok" with it, but at this point it's the only sensible thing to do that the huge gambled failed.

And we trying to do that... Do not think Morey will not try the best players possible with the room left?

We aren't throwing it away. There's just no smarter plan than to fill up the roster around Harden and Howard. I would love a curveball to happen and we acquire Taj Gibson or someone.

The worst thing about this situation is there is 0 guatantee another star will even want to come here.. More is just wasting Howard and Harden. Just build the damn team around them its not a hard concept. He's too obseesed with a 3rd star to the poing it could hurt the team

Cult of Morey? How about cult of Harden and Howard? There weren't complaints about cap space then weren't there?

If we were talking about Lebron or Love or even Dragic/Lowry I can understand this drama but this about Chandler Parsons. CHANDLER PARSoNS is the difference between championship contender and lottery team?????

I expect a Parsons watch thread next year as you see him post identical strata to this year while ,making the max. I mean, Dallas now has the same amount of max players as Houston surely they should be competitive. Dirk and Cup about to go toe to toe with Harden and Howard in the playoffs

You can build around HnH without paying the max for a role player. This year is a bad market for signing someone, so many teams have cap space as a result everyone got overpaid. Next year would be great for signing guys as all the teams are now capped out and there will be little money to go around.

No dude, he expects the hand of God to come down and GM the Rockets. Every single move must work out every single time.

Onetime I dated a girl who worked in payroll that was very flexible. She was definitely not overrated.

Ask any Knick fan about Isaiah Thomas' days as GM in NYC. Poor cap management paralyzed that franchise for years.

after bosh lied to us, it left us in a tough spot, but you can't chase that hurt with a decision to max out parsons if you don't truly believe he's a viable 3rd piece on a championship team

Totally agree. Everyone has overblown how important the cap flexability is to pretend the team isn't worse. Losing Parsons will only accentuate the issues with the team that annoyed everyone last year (ball movement, Harden dominating the ball etc).

Yeah the starting line-up has more defense. Results in more pressure on Harden to score and create, more posts up for Howard. Oh and the bench has no defense at all. Oh, we don't have a reliable ball handler to have his minutes staggered to play with the bench.

6th best team in the West at best.

I do agree this was a bad year to have cap space.

Here are some of my observations:

Parson - This guy reminds me of a borderline Matt Maloney...with a few more skills. Parson will not take us from a playoff caliber team to legit contenders. A $15 million player would, Parsons will not. Parsons helps us better tying up the Dallas cap space then he would on our roster. The fan rage WILL come with Dallas when Parsons doesn't live up to his $15 million contract.

Bosh - So yes, Bosh faked us for a better contract. He was worth his contract simply because you can unload him to any team. Its ok to buy a frivolous asset if you can get equal or better worth later on down the road. IMO, Bosh was not the answer. He is only a loss because we could have gotten two good role players in return... wait, we can still do that.

Anthony - The guy only cares about money. You bring him on board and you can pretty much bet on losing Howard when he becomes a FA. Sometimes its better flounder in the second round than make it to the third round with cancer. So again, Anthony was not a huge loss.
