Morey should have foreseen that what worked with single guys Harden and Howard wouldn't work with family guys/pussywhipped guys Melo and Bosh. Howard was also unhappy in LA and hated by fans. Bosh and Melo were much less maligned by their fanbases. Why give up Parsons and Lin and Asik and give up on a whole season of Dwight's prime for a longshot?

The only thing I'm judging Morey and the Rockets on is in whether they win a championship. Consolation prizes are for losers.

There is no defense of Morey for the stupid move of not matching CP25.

So instead... we have a Howard, Harden, Ariza big three...

I agree. It will be funny if Dwight Howard ask for a trade NOW. Stupid Morey and Les for treating players as assets.

Let's say Kobe drove him out, okay and...?

    Dallas
    Golden State
    Atlanta
    LA
    Houston

    ...made pitches to him.

Boy, doesn't Golden State or Dallas look good right now. (They did last year too.)

Trying to think the alternative that Morey could have chose; keep Parson for another year, we still risk losing him for nothing or if traded before deadline risk alienating Howard and other Fegan players? Just thinking of the ramifications had Morey went that way. Otherwise, Morey did CP a solid and CP applied the KY in return.

Morey was never as good as a lot of you said he is and he's not as bad as you guys are saying now. The same risks you loved him for bit him in the a**. He can't be a genious when it works and an idiot when it doesn't.

Dwight don't even want to play with a Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins over Parsons. It's about fit and Parsons obviously fits better than either of those guys that would take a couple seasons to learn. So Dwight isn't a part of future plans I guess because he is probably gonna bolt.

Uh no, i dont consider that a big three and if you do then you're a fool. He is a role player, parsons is a role player. Yall are panic like the season starts tomorrow. I thought real fans dont always agree with what's happening with their team, but they dont cry about it like the world is over.

This is exactly the type of move you've been hoping for from the end of last season. Go for role players and depth while not picking up horrible contracts. Well, we did just that. I think it's the right move after the initial plans failed.

Everything comes out from that ultimate plan of trying to bring a 3rd superstar. When the Rockets didn't need that player to contend.

We could have had an easier summer going for Lowry as first choice offering him a good contract. Probably he would be here now, and Parsons too. Maybe we could have even saved the MLE to get a guy like Patterson. And in addition to some appropiated vet min contracts we would be talking about a top roster.

It can happen that you go for Bosh but he decides to stay, and that's not considered a mistake like it is not for the Bulls at his Melo attempt.

But that ultimate plan of sacrificing EVERYTHING, even a prime year of Dwight Howard, just for just the chance of maybe end getting that third superstar... I think that's VERY questionable looking at Rockets roster situation.

We didn't want to get rid of Lin just for the sake of getting rid of him..

    Great post.

Crazy how so many are throwing their hands in the air on a player they just recently flamed for giving up one of the best shots in playoff history.

Funny how minds and feelings change so quickly when someone else puts a price tag on a player.

Good for Chandler, he got paid. He'll be okay now and so will we.

Plus you did not mention the decision of supporting McHale.

Parsons contract is definitely too big; I agree and its not his fault Bosh backed out at the last second.

I am, however, troubled that he has no problem throwing away 2 seasons in favor of flexibility. Flexibility is great; but when you have a window to win now, you sacrifice it.

If you would be so kind to post less in the future I would greatly appreciate it.

Assuming we don't trade Howard or the Beard, we just lost our best trade asset. I never thought we should keep him at that money, but I did think we should match and use him as a trade piece at the deadline.

this blurb from NBA.COM sums it up:

At one point, we thought the Rockets were going to have a lineup of Patrick Beverley, James Harden, Parsons, Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard. As it turns out, they’ve dealt away their depth (Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin), swapped Parsons for Trevor Ariza, and helped three fellow Western Conference teams (Lakers, Mavs and Pelicans) improve. They’re also giving the Washington Wizards an asset…
