I just wanted to say props to Cuttino for his decision in regards to his free agency. It's not too many players these days that feel team loyalty has some value. Now I do realize that perhaps Mobley did resign here for simply selfish reasons, but that is not what he is saying, and the fact is, he could have got more money elsewhere. I can't say I ever felt that Cat would stay with us, he just didn't seem like the classy type player who would feel a good coach and companions mean more than money, but he really changed my view of him these last few days. What does everyone else think? Did Cat stay because he wanted to have loyalty to one team and coach, or did he just realize that he would not be the man in Toronto, and would probably not get more minutes? ------------------ "Nothing is certain but the unforseen." I agree that Cuttino made a classy decision, but IMO it's easy to see where things went wrong with Toronto. If you will remember, all of the Cat to Toronto rumors died out about the same time Toronto made their hard push for Croshere. I don't think it's any coincedence. Essentially, the Raptors had to tell Cuttino "We still want you but only if we can't get Croshere," since there obviously was not enough money for both. I honestly believe that that really hurt Cuttino's ego, and then after realizing how badly Steve and the Rockets wanted him and needed him it made his decision to go back to Houston a very easy one. ------------------ Looking for next year's Dan Langhi? Mobley has shown some major class with his decision, and I think that Mobley was just trying to be smart, $6+ mil a year is not just something you can turn down in an instant. Cat might have realized just how loyal an organization the Houston Rockets are to it's players and what a big part he plays in it's future. But I don't really think shot attempts will be all that important to Cuttino this upcoming season due to him acknowledging that "Steve runs the show down here".
I just have to say...I am a Mobley fan for the rest of his career, that showed tons of loyalty and class, gotta love Mobley... ------------------
The beautiful thing about Mobley signing for six years as opposed to two or three is that, barring a falling-out of some sort, he can hold this last month over Francis' head to try and get him to stay when his contract ends. In reality, it may not have had as much to do with Francis' pleas as with the offer from Toronto, but Steve doesn't have to know that.
"you so right!" Cuttino is the jam. I've hoped since day 1 he'd stay, but Wink, come on loyal to our players? (I mean I bleed Rock fuel)But can anyone say Maloney? Cassell? Horry? Max? Moses? I'm just sayin' it ain't like our loyalty record is spotless.....really....taht's all i'm sayin'...... ------------------
Cuttino is something you put on your toast? I never understood that saying? I understand the man, cause it is like saying you are the one guy. And I understand the bomb, cause its like saying your soo hot you explode. And I understand phat, cause it stands for Pretty Hot And Tempting (PHAT), but I dont understand someone being the jam???? Please help. ------------------ Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women!
Maybe there's plenty of Cuttino to spread around? ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
I actually would have preferred it if Mobley had signed a 2 year deal with a third year option, so that the Rockets could return the loyalty favor once they were able. He won't be making bad money with this contract, and he's protected against injury, but he could have milked the Rockets for more. I don't want him to be complaining about being underpaid later on and not being able to do anything about it. Nor do I want the Rockets to up and trade him because other teams like how cap-friendly he is. They did it to Harrington so they'll do it to Mobley, if it is expedient. ------------------ Rockets Draft Obligations Summary http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/
I think it shows us that Mobley is true to his word , He didnt say two years and them Im gone , He said If you guys want me you'll have to put up with me for 6 years , thats what I like to see , And i would like to apologize to Cuttino Mobley for calling him a money loving traitor ------------------ President of the Rockets/Raiders Fan Club

I'm elated to have Cuttino back with the Rockets. Cuttino practices as hard as anyone in the NBA trying to get better. He plays the game with heart, and he is fearless attacking the basket. He has the courage and steady nerve to take the big shots at the end of the game. How he plays on the court mirrors his decision to stay with the Rockets team and fans. It was a courageous decision made from the heart. MUCHO GUSTO CUTTINO!!! ------------------
After Parsons signing a hard to swallow RFA offer as an overachieving / underpaid second round draft, I thought it would be nice to remember our appreciation for Cuttino signing a bargain MLE for 6yrs, when many of us thought he'd sign for 2 with a player option to go for big bucks with Bird Rights Cat was "classy".
