I think Les needs to take some of the blame for pushing Morey to chase stars. Even Clutch and the majority of the people on Clutchfans have bought into the star chasing when common sense should've told us we needed better D and a deeper bench to get further in the playoffs.
People do not understand it is not only Morey. Les is a cheap owner. The only one he would probably pay is Lebron James because that at least he guarantees him playoff success. Les is not a risk taker and Morey is too much of a risk taker. They don't work out as a duo.
Morey is a excellent assistant GM, but he isn't a good GM He has wasted Yao/Tmac era, he is wasting Horward/Harden era. when he should be focus on team's improvement, he just chooses to risk. When he should choose to risk, he just gives away Aggressive!aggressive!!aggressive!!! Balance! Balance!! Balance!!!!
I'm there with you, this is actually the first time I have even considered looking in this thread. Not to the Mavs man, not the freakin Mavs.. F##k Morey! lol.
I don't have an issue with Morey as Gm. I think he is amazing at finding talent and building rosters so far. The only issue i have with him is how he has handled the coaching situation so far. Otherwise, excellent job by him i think.
What does any of that matter...??? KMart and Scola didn't get us to the playoffs. Just gave us lottery picks for Morey to mess up.
!!! All we needed this off season was more depth, that is all!! we just needed an upgrade for jones and a defensive wing off the bench we won 54 games for goodness sakes. I still blame McHale for this, sorry but I JUST DO. We needed a better coach.
He should be in charge of the cap and the analytical department with a real GM making the basketball decisions.
For real man! I mean, i understand it's a lot of money, but we groomed him and you can't let someone we groomed go to the ****ING MAVS!!! I wouldn't be as mad if it was to a team in the east, but the mavs?
Yeah this dude is overrated and needs to go. After the Harden, and Howard signing he must have been flying high thinking H-town is the new Miami. Strike 1. not picking up Parsons last year option. Strike 2. Melo. Strike 3. Bosh. Get this clown outta here!!!!!
The only other thing i can think of is...maybe Morey never really wanted Parsons back. Maybe the plan was to surround Harden with more D. Ariza gives them that. Who knows anything about Alonso Gee? Apparently he is in the Ariza/Asik S&T deal.
Ultimately Maury is like an amalgamation of: 1. The idiot guy in rom-cons who the ugly duckling is initially in love with but goes out of his way to make fun of her and reject her, only to want her back after she turns out to be hot at the end of the movie. 2. In player evaluation the embodiment of his philosophy re offense - dunks and 3's only, nothing in between. I suppose Ariza is the infrequent long jumper, but see 1. 3. We have a GM who only knows X's and O's and not the emotional side of business, and a coach who only knows the emotional side of coaching but not X's and O's. Sigh. I'd be that guy from the '94 commercial right now if I still lived in Houston.
Do people really think we're just some defensive role players away from winning a championship? I'm glad our GM isn't settling for anything less than 3 legitimate all-star players. 3-allstar model is clearly the model of success based on the teams that are making the Finals every year. Spurs/Heat had at least 3 future HOFs on their roster.
Just running this like a business at this point. Les wrote the season off and doesn't want to pay LT to actually improve the team. Cheap and lazy.
I agree with this. We had a very good team last year. Instead of trying to add some depth and let the team grow, we had to "shoot high" again. Now we are probably a playoff team, but not for sure. And certainly aren't a title threat
I don't care if the rockets got Carmelo and Bosh, this team still ends the season in disappointment with Mchale as coach in my opinion. This is why i thought free agency wasn't the answer. The way Morey builds this team either without or around mchale will ultimately judge his legacy. I think its sort of obvious which sort of surprises me when the Organization is pretty stubborn about this.
I almost feel ashamed that this is how pathetic our fan base can be. <br> It's kind of amazing that you cite our superstars being "pissed off" and yet Dwight has vocally said on Twitter that (in summary) whatever happens happens, in the end this team is more about James and himself than anything else. Doesn't sound too incensed for someone who is "pissed off."
